You really don't want your best player on indefinite leave 3 weeks before the season starts.

Saints can't take a trick.

Let's hope he gets himself right. He's doing the right thing for the long term.

“The Deebrief” a Dees fan podcast, one of the crew said they’d seen him out and about on “mental health”.

Speedy recovery Jack Stevens hope that you are in a good place.

It can happen to anyone at any time and he is brave to call out.  His healing is the most important as time out will do him good. I have been there with someone in my family. I am sure he will get the right care.

Do as you wish but I think we should take anyone saying they have a MH issue at face value. If not, people with real problems will be dismissed.

Would be easier and with less press to just say he did his hammy.

The players can still be drug tested sitting out with a made up injury. If you’ve had two strikes and fear a test is imminent, then claim mental health issues and you can’t be forced to submit to a drug test.

*I’m not at all saying this is the case with Stevens.

Interestingly though, he said he hoped not to miss any games and that it was a family issue. He might just need a couple of weeks to concentrate on the issue.

he also said he was going to have a complete break from any training. wouldn't want to be too long a break if he wants to play round 1. it didn't sound like a short break the way he talked.

Without doubt he will come back for the Dees game to inspire the saints to a stirring win... ?

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
