About to start

So lots of running, kicking, marking etc

Just a note, Demonland has permission to use my Insta photos, nobody else does, so if you want to use, ask my permission, otherwise they won't be on Demonland either

Will do a bit of 'reporting' later

Would appreciate a report of an up to date rehab group. Cheers.

This fella has genuinely lost the plot.

Someone should start a second training thread so that posters can share some thoughts and insights that won't be censored by Saty.

These threads have genuinely turned into some sort of exclusive ownership.

Why don't you go to training to see for yourself what is going on, no one is forcing you to read Saty's posts. For supporters like myself who don't live in Melbourne all the training reports are appreciated.

Agreed and I don’t see why anyone would be upset at Saty asking people not to use his photos without permission

Saty baits people. STMJ has swallowed the hook and can't cough it up. We can't expect to agree with everyone here so we should accept the differences. If you don't like them block them, constant bitching is tiresome. Thanks to all those that report on training, I expect you to have biases we all have them. The best bias is we are Melbourne supporters.

Yes your right. Everyone has permission to quote other posts and photos, would be a total disaster otherwise. Looking forward to the training reports. Any announcement on captaincy yet? Co-captains again i would expect.

I think what Saty refers to is not having permission to use his photos in other venues. If there is a saty photo in a post you are allowed to quote that post on Demonland. I guess he doesn't want you coping his photos and using them somewhere else.

As to baiting, if you are a serial baiter you will get a holiday, just ask stevethemanjordan. This goes to Saty as well.

Let's keep on topic.

Why does every training thread end up in a shitfight? Surely everyone is happy to find out what is happening at training without resorting to that rubbish?

Personally I think every snippet is great.

Cant wait for R1 so that we can talk about the real things that matter ?

Glad that the boys have had 2 wet weather training sessions on a row. Gets them ready for season proper

It is an area we have been not so flash in of late. Would be good to get that one down. Global warming says hi.

Any updates Saty?  For the small minority of posters who seem to take exception at your opinions, there are a lot more mostly silent readers who really appreciate the training updates you provide and don't take exception to your views.

+10000

It's the same tiresome bores that take umbrage with Saty.

I'm bound to a desk and I love the training reports and can filter out the fugazi.

Being up in Qld I also welcome ALL training reports including Saty's and expect them to continue. We must remember everyone has an opinion which MUST be respected even if you do not agree.

Agree 100% with this. The silent majority love your updates @Satyriconhome.

Does every training thread have to end up being about Saty? The bloke baits people and thrives within the ensuing attention. These threads are almost unreadable once he does his thing. Block him and move on.

I found two of my photos unattributed on another forum, hence my post, Internet etiquette

I don't need the attention Ethan, I just find a small group of posters on here insufferable blowhards, it's not me, as you can see,  who starts this, on this occasion using a lack of comprehension the reason to launch

Anyway back on topic, it was a lovely sunny morning at Goschs, I wish

Even with the atrocious weather,  it was a really good solid session, with lots of emphasis on ball movement in the drills

On the rehab side it was just Tim Smith, Melksham and Lever, with Hibberd, Jetta, Baker and Viney doing a couple things in rehab as well, but also some main group drills

Jones and KK were inside, don't blame them

Lever was kicking and jumping at the ball, so progressing nice

Session finshed with a very willing tackling session, we have a specialist coach for this as well now

Can someone pass a training comment about OMAC. I think he is a key to our backline despite a surfeit of talent now down there. Is he training well ?

Yes, but you jinxed him?? gave his head a good belt on the ground during the tackling drill,  left looking a bit worse for wear, uptil then was really good, received praise a couple of times for his shot selection during ball movementt drills

The small forward competition is on, during the tackling drill Garlett, Spargo, Bedford, Corey Wagner and JKH all trying to outdo each other which can only benefit the team

Forgot Chandler, edit

Walked back to AAMI with James Harmes, had a laugh comparing the skinny blonde kid with the toothy smile from 5 years ago to the man I was walking next to now, he said he is the fittest he has ever been and is one solid unit

Oliver completed the whole session with the main group

Hi

I would be interested to hear from the regulars how they think training and in particular the use of training aids has developed over recent years.

Do for example they use the ball shooter that they were using for one of the entertainment comps at the quarter breaks etc.

Thanks

Most of the advances are more on the technological side, ie drones, body cams, advanced gps etc

And specialist coaches, like boxing, grappling/tackling and the runner pre Xmas to get the miles into the rehabbers

I asked about the ball shooter after somebody mentioned pre Xmas

Answer 'the players kick the ball'

So just to recap the rehabbers are: Jones, Viney, Melksham, Jetta, Hibberd, May, Lever, Kolodjashnij, Baker & T Smith.

Is Hibberd new to the rehab group. Any idea what his ailment is?

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
