Injury List - Season 2019

Featured Replies

We are [censored] cursed.

KK with another head knock?! Stretch with sore foot again?

Do not even get me started on the Joel Smith [censored] up.

This season is dead to me.

If I was Joel I'd either sue the club or seek a trade..

Just disgusting how that he now misses a year because we decided to leave him on the ground of a meaningless practise game due to no rotations.

Yet none of Goodwin or Mission have taken no responsible at all when quizzed about this.

Pissweak

This has been stated about 87 times before, but FYI J Smith has OP so going back on the ground did next to nothing.

I agree. Injuries have killed 2019

12 players unavailable this week.

Levers bruised knee will mean 3-4 weeks out.

Garlett probably now end of career at red and blue.

Vandenburg and Smith are virtually confirmed as out of the year. Will both miss all of 2019

Kk gone for 2019. Potential career ending imo as he is approaching dangerous level of number of concussions.

OP is caused my high acute stress pressure on his groin. Which he would have felt a sharp twinge. Joel comes and complains of sharp pains in his groins, club then sends him back out and the pain worsens as the day goes on. That's where the OP would have started.

Don't give me the whole going back on the ground did nothing [censored]. It worsened because he was sent back out.

I can’t understand why KK is not wearing a helmet

Err, he is, same as Gus's

Yep, has been since he has been back

Visible at 2:00 mins in on this clip. Until he gets a clear run at it, they will need to monitor any head knock KK has to ensure the concussion effects don't re-occur.

I can only assume the club was well aware of the issue before the game, and had been managing it accordingly. Yes it flared up during the game, but given it is an overuse injury the damage was well and truly done before he went back out on the ground.

In saying this, I’m not a medical professional so ?‍♂️

Me too.

Lets get some quality games into Petty.

An important missing not!

Petty stays in for sure. In fact I wouldn't mind if lever takes 3 weeks and petty gets those games.

Had a chat with The Lord on Saturday he said he was aiming to play the last 5 games of the home and away. He's not on a restricted program anymore just needs to do what he is to get his fitness back up and then return through Casey for touch and confidence.

That’s 13 off our list, and seven certainties for the senior team. Says a lot about our predicament.

Disappointed Garlett's season is over. His contract will be interesting. I think most of us thought he was unlikely to get an extension at the start of the year but injuries to other forwards aside, when he came back in he wasn't dropped. His form was sketchy at times but his pressure acts were right up there every week. Given our forward line troubles as a whole a 1 year extension might not be out of the question.

And your medical qualifications are?

Oh here we go with the you have no medical qualifications so you no right of an opinion.. [censored]

I battled OP for 6 years running on and off. It's only the past 12 months that i am finally pain free and able to play a full game without any groin soreness. I was too to take time off and instead tried to push through the pain barrier each only to make it worse and worse.

I dont need medical qualifications, i have had millions of advice and information over the journey from physio and docs about this one particular injury.

And when we are told they say one week, but maybe 3 or 4. I mean seriously what a joke

It could be one week, it could be 3-4 weeks: on the information we have at the moment it's too early to say, and we'll see how it evolves over the next week or so at which time, with more information, we'll be able to make a more definitive prognosis.

What's so difficult to understand here? Have none of you ever been to a doctor?

I have medical qualifications and I remember yelling at the screen - get him off. It beggars belief that he played on.

Strewth it is not as if we are at round 16 or something, we are just over halfway and we have a raft of players out for the season and others just as likely! Fingers crossed get everyone cherry ripe for next season and just maybe....

Joel Smith - from a 4 week injury in mid March to gone for the whole season. FMD.

Criminal  No doubt that decision framed Joel's season. And you can understand his father being upset.

Does not  look like anyone has paid a price yet!

Melk, Lever & Vanders the only injuries to genuinly be hurting us here in terms of the remainder of the season.

Joel a pretty poor outcome for a good while now, especially given the disastrous forward output so far.

Hibb returning soon but was just coming into some decent form when the collarbone hit.

We've all seen plenty of [censored] storms down at demonland as far as injuries over the years but i think this one takes the cake!

All I can do is shake my head in disbelief. Smith was managed so poorly. We draft KK with serious concussion issues that remain. Disgrace.

? I didn’t see the Casey game on the weekend.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
