Vanders 4-6, uh-oh

I shake my head at the Joel Smith one. FFS!

Yep. Hasn't really changed the entire time he has been out. 3 to 4 weeks ago it was 3 weeks de-load and 3 week re-load.

Next minute: we want to set him up for a strong 2020....

I'm very sad........nevertheless i was sad last year for a while too.  This year however i'm sad because of knowing that they are better than what i thought they were last year. Whereas last year i didn't really know what they could achieve, so in effect i'm sadder this year than last year....you could ask if i will be extremely sad next year.......

I think Spargo would be helpful at the SCG.

#edit:  I hope they do Not play TMc this week...  rest him  Ffs.

We do not need that high-endurance run on the bloody SCG.   So ANB and TMc can rest a week.

But a bit of punch off the mark,  wouldn't go astray... - Sparrow. Chandler,

If there is 1 player on our list I don’t want to see 4 2 6 next to it is Vanders

It’s crazy how many players are getting injured.  We need more cotton wool.

Surely KK puts on the helmet like Brayshaw.

The helmet does nothing to stop a concussion. Brayshaw wears it because his mum wants him to.

He got elbowed in the head. It happens. He obviously is very prone to concussion and we need to manage that.

I assume they’ll do with him what they did with Gus and Jetta before him, both of which, touch wood, have come out the other end.

Footballing maths. I suspect you might really mean 4 of our best 22.

football is all about your bottom six - take away four of the 22 and yr reliant upon your squad, and that's 26

fwiw, if you add in kk, that's 9 of what was my ostensible 'best 26' from the start of the year now missing:

B: Jetta - May - Lever
HB: Lewis - O Mac - Hibberd
C: Jones - Brayshaw - Harmes
HF: Petracca - T Mac - vandenBerg
F: J Smith - Weideman - Melksham
Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney
I/c: Hannan - Hunt - Fritsch - Preuss
Emerg: Spargo - Stretch - Kolodjashnij - Frost

that's 8 of 26 currently on the injury list, or freshly added to it since the weekend, plus jkh is next cab off the ranks too

Now that we've finally added McDonald to the injury list, when most people could tell he was struggling in round 1, when are we going to be honest about Jetta? The guy can barely move at the movement.

As I was saying ... ?

Why is Jetta already cooked by round 4?

I'll answer my own question, he was in rehab until the new year. It's going to be the story of the season sadly.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS

12 injured players heading into round 4.

Whilst not all are best 22, but imo 7 would be in my best 22

jetta. Lever. May. Kk. Hannan. Lewis. jsmith. Vandenburg.

That’s TOO MANY ALREADY in a tough relatively even competition.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
