Bottom of page:

Jaguar Land Rover is part of Tata Motors.

Commonly known as JLR.

Great outcome for the club and WELL DONE to all in the Sponsorship Team. Its a tough jig and they keep delivering and meeting the Club's expectations on getting the sponsorship dollars in.

Would be interesting to know if this was a Gary Pert deal or one they already had in the hopper. Either way great result particularly if they can turn it into a long term deal.

Yes, well, no surprise really. Unfortunately.

I'd be none too impressed if i was the jaguar exec in charge of the sponsorship deal or their comms department.

Ask yourself. Did i use Demonland to keep updated about this announcement or the MFC website?

If the answer is the former then that tells you all you need to know about where our comms is at as a club.

If you answered the latter you probably don't know we have new BOJ sponsor.

Range Rover...Jag.  same company ;)

Like everything, who owns who , and who is paying the rent!

Its like drinking a craft beer and then noticing that the special imported or local brew you have paid extras for is actually made under licence by one of the conglomerate beer companies.

Range Rovers and Jags all the same.  That's how much I know about cars.

Look, its always great to get a new sponsor. But, a one year deal is a  bit of a show of lack of faith imo. The roundabout of sponsors continues as does a lack of a viable home base. Cant get excited about this.

On the radar a long time.

I must admit I'm shocked this hasn't been officially announced yet on social media or even mentioned on there by the media.

Really? I’m not, I came here first and wouldn’t be surprised if it’s 5pm or later when a tweet comes out.

Where's the announcement? I thought there was supposed to be a press conference this morning? The club fired out a couple of quickfire tweets with Maxy saying Stay Tuned and nadda since.

They're useless.

The club is preparing their advertisement for tomorrow's daily broadsheet (perhaps in the announcements pages - they are still deciding), considering an advertisement in the Truth and is working up a post for MySpace.

or maybe media savvy enough to know that by not making a formal announcement they will get speculative publicity as well as that for the actual announcement.

Every day we hear that politician X will announce today xxxx.  Why? Because they'll get 2 bites at the publicity.

Nope, sorry Sue they're useless. Besides they have made a formal announcement with a media release.

It's just a gut feeling but with Jag looking to really push their Pace along.. especially the E pace it probably works to get exposure.

I suspect if the car sales follow then Jag may stay around for a few more years.

The E pace has very good reviews... probably a better more affordable car than Elon's

I wish them well.

Love to have one :)

they need an electric type car...  like an e-type jag

or a quick saloon type.

Expect the vehicle to be delivered sometime in the beginning of the summer of 2020.

That E type wouldn't sound the same ;)

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
