Alrighty...trade out of the way. Just the draft...and that's not as big for us now ;)

So what do we know about our fixture next year. Who do we destroy first for example :)

Other than pretty well certs of Tigers  Anzac Eve..Pies QB mon.. and some likely September games...have we heard or know much ?

I want the Geelong game to be a rd1 staple just like Carlton and Richmond.

GCS in Darwin so we can send our reserves team up there instead of the B22 (assuming the NTexperient is set to proceed as reported).

Good Friday night footy possibly before Anzac Eve on Thursday 25th. Maybe a Hawthorn for Good Friday??

Dockers at Optus - not WCE again.

And quite right there should be a Melbourne vs Collingwood game round 1 Saturday at the G. Make it a 2.00 pm start to boot. That will get the hairs on the back of the neck standing on end.And a huge win for the deeees.

Play the dockers in Perth (instead of WC) I think that will be a given given Hogan trade.  They are a waste of time at the G in terms of crowd.

Like Rd Pies or geelong - become a regualr

QB/ANZAC know our block busters.

A few more Friday night games against, Don's, Carlton (For fun), or anyone with a big following.

Hopefully not, I’d rather a home game 1st up

The good news is we should play Freo, Gold Coast and North twice that's 6 wins and the pies which means 8 wins.

they ran that rumour last year.. didn't happen

It was the Pies who were anxious to maximise the gate

Not sure the Pies are too worried about who they play in the opening round next year as long as it's a home game for them

Saw this widely reported as well - which as a general rule, when it comes to fixturing, means it's fairly probable

...but this would also be great! Would like to see this become a regular fixture too.

I think we can expect maybe one Thursday night and I would hope Travis Auld took note of our August and particularly September crowds in rewarding us with some prime time slots.

And on a side note, please no more Carlton Friday nights FFS!

Do we still play any home games at Docklands/Marvell?  If so, I'd love to make it against WC, to deprive them of a game at the G.

Who cares about the TV ratings, I'd have thought the club would get more from a good gate. What's this notion that Collingwood always get to start the season?

Friday night are always better. Would love to play the Pies Friday night.

Correct. It was stated in the article about the 2019 requests for fixturing and that both clubs were having another crack at getting this game next season.

Assuming we’ll have one or two home games there. Been that way for a while hasn’t it?

Who will be the 5 teams we play twice? My guess is the Pies, Dockers, Kangas, Suns and Cats

One thing I’ve wanted for a while but never seems to happen. Home game at the G vs Essendon, the ALWAYS seem to get the home game vs us. It’s actually getting ridiculous now.

Guarantee a Friday night game about Freo before Round 5

All things aside I am very interested to see how we are treated this year.

We've shown we can get bums on seats. I understand our televised matches rate ok. We play a very entertaining style of footy. We would have to be among a handful of teams favourite for the flag. If this doesn't garner some respect come scheduling I don't know when.

It certainly had been, but I have an inkling that last year we played no home games at Docklands.  I could look it up, but I'm in a lazy mood.  Since Docklands no longer represents the hoodoo to us that it once did, it would almost be worth us playing the eagles there just to deny them exposure to playing on the G, even if we no longer need to sacrifice home games to Docklands.

We have played the eagles only once a season and on their home deck on every occation for the past two years if I recall correctly.  About bloody time that we play them on the eastern side of the Nullabour.  Alternate to denying them the experience of the G (which they probably have covered by the GF anyway to be honest), I recon it would be great to play them at the G in about Rd 4 or 5, when hopefully we are really hitting our straps and pulverize them in front of a home crowd of 75,000 - 68,000 of them being Melbourne supporters.  The umpires can give us free kicks for tripping over our own feet then, just like they do the eagles in WA.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
