@Return to Glory not a bad game yesterday. Opened the show bag from Chemist Warehouse yet?!!

Great game Ben E. Alas, daughter has opened it already and any chance to repackage into several gifts (who doesn't want a hand warmer for Christmas) has evaporated. Bloke walking to Richmond Station ahead of me had five. That's a family worth of presents.  Hope you enjoyed the Eagle Rock tune that you also experienced in WA.

Interested in your Hogan thoughts in the Draft/Trade Cheeseboard forum. RTG

Yes, should have been a free kick to the filth for blocking.

But it's disingenuous to look at that non decision in isolation.

Should have been a free kick against Howe for holding the ball in the goal square. Would have been a certain WC goal.

And Stephenson ran 25 metres without bouncing the ball before kicking a goal. (Duly noted by a filth supporter I was sitting with.)

Why?  Other than those opening goals, I thought WCE looked a better team for the rest of the match.  They just couldn't quite make it count on the score board (until it counted)

agreed.

and wc should/could have had another 2 goals in qtr1. kennedy's miss early in qtr and then the 2 eagles getting in each other's way 25m in front and spilling an easy chest mark. could have been a 1 goal game at qtr time.

winning ratio. dees 66.7%, filth 50%

The WCE  were in front for 6 minutes of the match and when it counted at the end of the game. Poor old Collingwood. I would have been devastated if that was us. What ifs and buts. It would drive me insane.  But you get your odd so called maggie supporter that would say every now and again, did Peter Daicos  kick any goals today? I have encountered that a few times lately ......I would reply he hasn't played since 1993, where have you been hiding?

How does their song go ?  Good old Collingwood  for never they know how to choke games,  CHOKE! CHOKE! CHOKE!

CORRRRR BLIMEY!

Read this morning that WCE cleaned their rooms before they left after the GF.

The only other club I know that does this after every game and training is the All Backs - arguably the most successful sporting club in history (~80% win rate?!) This is part of their culture - that no task is too small - and they always recruit character over talent, as talent can always be improved.

We've had a great season and set up a really good base for next year. But I hope we are looking to instill a long term successful and winning culture.

At start of game, was hard who to support, hate both, but went with Pies losing to a kick after the siren!

sSo close to the perfect result! Pies supporters maximum misery and don’t have to listen to them gloating for next 12 months!

It was a great game and umpired well. There were a couple of crucial ones either way that could have been paid in the last but the balance and letting the game go was good.

West Coast had the momentum for 75% of the game and deserved to win.  I think the key factors were:

Collingwood went in too short.  They needed to pull the trigger on Reid or Moore.

All WC's key players fired and did their job.  Yeo was restricted by Greenwood but not nullified. It allowed Shuey off the chain and he took full toll.

Collingwood had vital players that failed.  Grundy was effectively nullified by WC tandem rucks and a direct tag.  Sidebottom was smashed by Hutchins who doesn't seem to be getting enough credit - 41 dangerous disposals down to 14 is a massive loss.  Pendlebury failed to fire - he has been a great player and this was his opportunity but Shuey took it.

It was a highly contested game and that's what we are based on so it reinforces we are on the right path.

Contested marking was pretty critical....

Oh and a decent defence...Barass and McGovern go OK.

Not to worry cos we have Oscar and Frosty. Just in case we are getting May and KK.....

Point 1 Collingwood went in too small.

I'm in favour of getting May and have remained unconvinced by Frost despite his good year where he played to his maximum.

How's the Collingwood cheer squad feeling right now about that banner...

Actually genuinely feel sorry for them with that, no bigger day that it could’ve gone wrong for them.

I'm with Pates on this. Hate Eddie, Bucks as a player was correctly known as FIGJAM but like many he has matured. His consoling of the clearly devastated banner team was nothing short of excellent. He surely had better things to do with his time right then, but he did the right thing. I'll give credit where credit is due - well done Bucks.

As we all know, the banner team are all volunteers who do it for the love of the game and having two great banners for teams to run through is part of the whole 'great game' thing. To have it go wrong like that on GF day is actually horrible and I felt really sorry for them.

It is time to put strict limits on runners time on the ground. I like the idea of it being only after a goal.

Bucks is a class act and his demeanour has been exemplary

Absolutely. It has become a blight on the game. And the way some teams abuse it!

I think Sydney have been the worst for over a decade. It's meant to be run on/pass message/run off/get new message/repeat. The Sydney runners are regularly on there 5+ minutes at a time. They are clearly coaching and should be banned from doing so.

The idea of only after a goal, run on/pass message/run off is a good one.

Isn’t it funny that last year everyone was praising Richmond’s small forward brigade and declaring it a successful formula (and to be fair they finished on top). But the way West Coast used their tall timbre was perfect, they have so many awesome contested markers it makes it difficult to defend.

Collingwood will definitely go harder for May though, there’s no one currently in their team that can competently take on that sort of forward line.

WC did even batter against Port. Were behind all game and kicked a goal with 40 seconds to go then another after the siren to win it. Time in front graphic read... Port Adelaide 80:00, WCE 0:00. Now that was a moment of hilarity from the host broadcaster.

I have a new question for Eddie to use on Who Wants to be a Miyyyionair

Is a cakewalk the same as a Pie in the sky?

How absolutely horrible, annoying and pathetic was the chant “USA, USA” when Cox got the ball.

That alone was enough to turn me to the ?

It is pathetic isn't it. Just like the moronic filth supporters to go paying some mumbo jumbo homage to the " great masters of the universe " which they must think the yanks are. I even saw a shot of some women with USA on her forehead. It was sickening.

Hard to believe the poor woman in charge of the banner that disintegrated is copping all sorts of threats and abuse. There are a lot of morons out there.

Can’t be serious, why would anyone think that’s a fair reaction. They do it for the love of the club, so much for “side by side”.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
