I have watched 3 entire games that KK played in this year and to be honest remain completely clueless as to what we think he brings to the team.

I know this years form may not represent his “potential” and I haven’t really seen much of his best year when he was runner up in their B&F other than a few highlights but I’m really not convinced he is the right fit. I really hope I’m wrong and do have confidence in our FD these days to make good choices but this feels like another Harley Balic potentially

I wish him all the best and hope he can turn his football career around quickly

Well one of those 3 was when we played GC second time around and we gave them such a shalacking that hardly anyone in the whole GC team got a kick, so KK's underwhelming performance in that game is hardly surprising.  Imagine saying that about a MFC game 3 or 4 years ago, how times have changed for the better.

Having concussion problems is quite from having depression and motivational problems like Balic, not that he was that much of an issue for the MFC anyway.  I think that worked out ok for both parties as it was.  We knew what we might have been up for, so only had him contacted for a year, so no huge damage done with things ending as they did.  I do have much better expectations for KK though.

Angus Brayshaw showed some really promising signs in his first year (2015).  Due to injuries and concussion issues his next two years were disappointing.  He lost his aggressive attack on the footy and just didn't look the same promising player.  Demon Andrew, or whatever he's now called,  potted him every second week.

When he finally got some confidence and continuity in his game and was played in his best position (on-ball) he shone.

You don't lose your natural talent.  I'm looking forward to seeing what Kolodjashnij can do with confidence in his body.  At 23 he's the perfect age to come to the club.

Best colours in the competition. Looks good in them.

Not sure what you mean?

As steak knives to the May trade, this is as good as it gets. Former pick 5 who has already proved himself to be a good player at AFL level. Get him past the concussion/neck issues and we've got another Brayshaw on our hands (in terms of possible impact). KK's skillset and physical attributes make him a potential elite footballer. I hope he can realise his potential and pick up his early career form where he finished second only to Ablett in their BnF (ahead of Lynch, May and other very good footballers). We're crying out for a good wingman to compliment our tough inside midfielders, and he could be the perfect option there.

Looks good in the red and blue!

I remember watching him in his second season and being very impressed and am therefore pleased we've got him.  But the unbridled optimism being shown by Demonlanders should be tempered a little I think.  If KK was really as good as is being made out why was he traded?  Why were GCS happy to see him go and why wasn't there any competition for his services?

I don't know the answers but the fact the questions remain makes me hesitant to go all in on him being a success.  It seems to me there is more to the story than just the concussion issues but we may never know.  Like the majority, I'm happy with the pickup and think it has lots of upsides but there is a fair chance it will fail otherwise the particular deal wouldn't have been done.

Looking a bit porky around the face yes, but give it a month and he'll be fine.

He’s always had a moon-face.

I’d be shocked if he coasted away while on leave knowing he had new teammates and coaches to impresss.

Regardless, i think both he and May are in for a rude shock when they realise our training standards are elite.

Maybe a bit harsh based on a photo, but doesn't look like the physique of someone who has been a professional athlete for 4 years.

My thoughts on his actual play and his recruitment are similar to BB, I loved him in his second season but he was a shell of his former self this season.

Not sure if he has come back early or this is the week players entering their 5th season are due back, but hoping he has something to prove and a big pre season ahead of him.

Oi weh, now we're - or some of us - are judging players by their facial structure. next we'll have a Phrenology department.

He wasn't even offered a contract at GC, and if not for being steak knives, would've been a token 3rd or 4th rounder in exchange. As you say seems there's more to it. Hopefully works out for him/us though. We need a gem after being screwed over for Hogan.

There are some players that no matter how many weights they lift, or how fit they are, they just don’t look it. Or I should say, they don’t look as ripped as some others.

I’m not too concerned though, he won GC’s 2km time trial last preseason in 29 degree heat before the headaches kicked in again around R4. With the strength and conditioning program I would guess he is on for his neck issue, I’m going to back him to do well in our preseason. ??‍♂️ ??‍♂️

Spoke to the son of a former junior coach of May, who described him as one of the most coachable boys he had coached.

Might not be the brightest player ever, but he clearly sees this move as his best chance of team success and will give it everything.

Somewhat similar to Kent, who was given away. That is the way of the AFL these days.

Probably half of DL's thought we overpaid for for Milkshake and Pig, yet today probably all of us would think we got bargains.

I'm impressed with our new digital content crew. It seems like actual content makers younger than 40 are producing the content on the website now. So much slicker already.

I'm a fan of the young and the old working together. Do it all the time in my projects and I advocate for both. The old MFC website seemed very simple and lacked decent video content. I hope to see more of it.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
