With all the talk about Port, did you all read that Jack Watts came 21st in their B+F ?

he won't be playing footy in another 2 years.

He should retire now to save further embarrassment. Never had the intensity nor love for the game.

I'm sure he'll otherwise make a success of his life, hopefully doing something he actually enjoys.

He never wanted to be a full-time footballer imo.

Remarkably quiet rumours thread. I've got nothing sorry?

GNF anything?

Club doesn't leak anymore. Pros.

I think GNF is the last place I'd go for all my guesses, I mean rumours.

@Chook in Perth though, different story, any news on talent club is chasing?

Hopefully this thread not only includes rumours but long bows as well, because here is one....

Max Gawn just followed Jonathan Ceglar on Instagram.

Is possibly seen as third in line at Hawthorn, given they have McEvoy and Pittonet.

Is contracted to end of 2019, perhaps with North playing hardball with Preuss, we may be looking at Ceglar.

Seriously embarrassing. As it would be for all of those blinkered Jack Watts supporters. (eh @Bobby McKenzie?)

As for Port..

Rockliff 13th, Motlop 14th, Watts 21st...

There is a drafting strategy that has failed....

This thread is a bigger let down than the Bachelor finale.

Won’t someone give me something?

All I know is that Cameron Ling dressed up as Ronald McDonald apparently plays Rugby these days.

Lets hope he takes another $M5_ without the brown paper bags.  Eating up some of their caps.

Maybe they could make them Maccas take away bags to increase the appeal to Phat Phil?

The Honeybadger as a category B rookie? Fast, strong, record number of disposals!

Lousy decision making

You could do that just for the PR

One of those facebook rumour sites has Robbie Gray coming to the Dees. Apparently he is unhappy with the direction Port are taking and wants to move back to Victoria.

I'm only reposting because he's just about my favourite non-MFC player and would love to see him in our colours, not because I think there's any substance in the rumour.

But can’t commit.

So many possible responses to that come to mind; all inappropriate.

It would be a huge statement. He’d have to be very very unhappy to make that sort of a move; club legend.

You're very keen to call out other posters' shortcomings recently, that's about the third time in as many days.

A quick tour through the "Is Goodwin the right guy" thread doesn't enhance your own reputation for foresight.

Why?

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
