If there is any truth to the GCS rumour we'll get there before tea on Monday.

I'd be amazed. It's Tony Sheahan, he tends to make stuff up for the likes/reactions.

No way Hogan goes for anything less than 2 first rounders .

This feels like massive unders... Only May and KK for Hogan?

Feels like = IS

KK is worth a pick in the 60+ range if you ask me based on Kent , Rohan, Scully talk etc

if we can’t get this done and retain a high 1st round pick it should not be considered full stop

For anyone who can’t stand freo/peter bell this will make it worse,

talks for Jesse have not stopped, they aren’t on hold and talks are locked in to continue early next week. Not sure what games freo are playing but don’t make a public statement saying you’re not interested and keep talks going. What a joke.

I’m amused by it now more than anything else.

I hated going to Freo games at Subiaco when he was playing. So many Dockers fans used to carry the little reception bells to the game and every time Bell got a touch the muppets would raise the bell and give it a ring.

It was beyond cringeworthy.

The kk inclusion was my opinion pickers was saying May only.

I understand why people think it’s unders but if Hogan doesn’t want to be here and won’t sign long term there’s no point in keeping him unless the offer is ridiculous.

He could find his niche in the backline like Hurley has and dominate for years to come.  I'm still sufficiently excited by this prospect.

I can't agree.  And I fail to see any profound "objectivity".

So Jesse goes to the club and says, "look, my preference is to return to WA if you can get a deal done".  We say, "sure, Jesse, but if we can't we're going to play you in defence for the next 5 years".  "You'll not only be happy about it you'll also be signing a new long-term deal."  "How does that sound ?"  "But but I'm a young gun key forward !"  "You were, Jesse, you were."

I'm not buying what you're selling Old, and I sure as hell don't think Jesse is either.

Lever went for picks 10 and 16.  Picks 5 and 23 are better than picks 10 and 16, although some of the nuffies might try and argue otherwise.  Try and get the deal done.

And there's a synergy with pick 23, which a few years back Taylor turned into Frost, Stretch, and Neal-Bullen.  I'm very confident Taylor can unearth a 150 game player with pick 23, or potentially even turn it into a lower pick.

We'll agree to differ.

So if true this confirms what I think of Bellend. He lies. How or why would anyone trust him.

Dockerland thinking.....

"I think Bell offering pick 11 for Kelly was a master stroke, I think he knew there was no chance he would accept the offer but at the same time Melbourne would've been peeing in their pants thinking that Freo is now trading away the pick we were offering up for Hogan.

This may be the attitude adjustment Melbourne need to take our offer of pick 11 plus our 2nd pick next year. "

Reckon freo trades 11 to eagles for 18 and another pick.

Wce trade 11 for Kelly.

freo trades Neale for 5

5 and 18 for hogan

5 for may and kk (hopefully)

See, now that seems sensible enough.

Doomed.

A lot of people here are going to be disappointed with what we receive for Hogan if he is traded.

The player wants out and the Dees are clearly keen as mustard to move him on. If we can get May in the door and a sweetener he’s gone. Hell I suspect the club would simply be happy now if it was just a straight May in, Hogan out arrangement.

A gun fullback and clear air is the preferable choice to holding on to a sulky wantaway forward bound cheaply for Freo or WC next year IMO.

Get it done now Josh any way you can.

The club is taking a purely needs based approach. If we can turn Hogan into May, KK (a former pick 5 let’s not forget) and some loose change, then given Jesse’s desire to leave I’d be content with that. The picks are just a means to an end.

Alternatively I’d be fascinated to see what Jesse can produce next season were he to stay at the club. We’d get to see how much of professional he really is. Gibbs produced arguably his best football in his final year at a club he didn’t really want to be at.

I was reading this article in the Age, and if what Peter Ryan and Michael Gleeson are saying is correct (and both are highly respected in the industry) then it would be very hard to arrive at a different conclusion

I think that's the missing point.  Tries CHB, dominates, likes it.

Look I'm happy to do the trade at market value but I'm equally happy to try to salvage the best outcome for the club it it can't happen because Bell's a f'wit.

Just imagine the size of the contract GC could offer him with May, Lynch & KK (who was on a  very decent contract) off their books?

No doubt the AFL will kick in the 500k ambassador allowance to go with it.

1.5 mil plus.

i would think he get closer to 2mill with AFL money included Like what Ablett was paid at the start

Liam Pickering just said that all 3 players definitely want to leave.

He said the deal will get done.

Neale to Brisbane

Hogan to Freo

 pick 5 to Suns

May and second round pick to Melbourne

Not sure about that with Crows looking at getting pick 5 from Brisbane, Seems everyone is walking away from freo

Interesting...

like i have said all along.

You do not sell a Ferrari at Commodore prices, if you do, then you are a fool.

I don't believe Goody will want a player on his list next season that isn't 100% committed to the long term Demon cause. Nor should he. For that reason, i believe a deal will be done for Jesse next week.As much as I love Jesse as a player, he now has to go.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
