For them - absolutely!

At least you are consistent, but you are wildly overstating our power here.

Regardless of the posts above from Wrecker, by saying nothing about staying, Jesse is clearly implying he wants to go.

If we can't do a deal, and he refuses to sign long term, we have a massive distraction contract-wise next year right when we don't need one, along with a player who clearly won't want to be there next year, and who already exhibits poor body language when things go his way.

This is exactly why Gold Coast want to get rid of May. It isn't worth the hassle.

Even if Wrecker is right, a player who is torn is going to have a really hard time properly committing, if Freo refuse to give us a fair deal.

He really has to go now, and we really have to take what we can get, all posturing aside.

A problem for the parties concerned is by my calculations Hogan is probably worth 1 and a bit first rounders.

This will get sorted, but a lot here won't be happy.

Surely if he’s chilling in Bali (and happy to let the world know about it) he’s told the two clubs to try to make it happen given the conversations that are being had.

The only The I wonder is his desire to get home, how many times have we seen contracted players use their managers to leverage a deal? The silence from the Hogan camp has me thinking his position is get the deal done if it can be done, but he wouldn’t be desperately sad if he was with us for another year.

Of course this is total speculation on my part but there just doesn’t seem to be as much noise as we’re used to.

It has been reported that Sydney and Carlton have reached agreement whereby Carlton receive pick 13 from Sydney in exchange for later picks. I recall it was mentioned on Demonland that the VDB deal with Sydney May include pick 13.

Just reported on Ch 7 Perth that Jesse Hogan has missed out on move to Freo.

I've read on Twitter that "Jesse declined Freo". Is this what Ch 7 reported?

Two different angles on the same news item.

Jump on SEN 1116 now.

Quote is roughly “Fremantle have missed out star forward Jesse Hogan with the star set to remain with the Demons next season.” (Basil Zemplis).

SEN host very confused as nothing further said.

Now , is it just next year or will he extend?

Seems bloody weird that this news would only warrant 30 seconds of news time in Perth

Does anyone think he may have failed the medical? I'm evidently not familiar with the process.. Obviously players get traded when injured so how does one "fail" a medical?

Ask Jack Trengove

Some reports are suggesting that. Navicular issues

Maybe the foot injury is too much of a risk for Freo (or a save face excuse for both sides if a deal could not get done for other reasons).

oh FFS... you mean we have to keep a 23year old CHF who's output to date matches any other KPF at his age ever......

My view.......the Club rate him highly JM has said so, picks 5&6, and I agree. I don't know what this damage to his brand is but he is a young man, he will mature and, fulfill his massive potential if he stays. Dustin Martin I'm sure everyone would agree did his best to trash himself, pretty sure he was open to being traded a couple of times, might have toured some facilities, was clearly gone, stays and next minute he's the best player in the comp. So sorry to those trying to beat his price down, I ain't buying it. We are showing him we value him as highly as anyone who has played the game. I suspect JM's "blunder" allows Freo to throw mediocre pics at us and show Jesse with the picks they offer that they don't rate him anywhere nearly as highly as we do. Jesse stays and gets another year older and maturer. To me he has continued to improve and would've kicked 60 goals this year without injury+finals. He is consistently in peak condition ready for pre season, that says a lot!!  He is trending upward and will continue to improve as our young team does, we have multiple potential superstars and he is one. So when these undervaluing posts hit this thread just remember that chopsticks bloke, we haven't seen anywhere near the finished JH product yet, and we should be backing him in to show us how good he can be and then he can head back to Perth, successful, rich and still only early 30s.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
