This is the oddest time for someone to ask people to calm down. About to trade a former pick 1, generational full forward.

Except Hogan was never picked in the draft, :)

Freo haven’t officially pulled the trigger on Lobb because they’re waiting/hoping for the Dees to cave on pick 11. Think about it ...

Some strange ideas in this place.

Who caves first?

6 & 11 is more then fair in comparison to the other trades that have gone down or are going down.

Would also take 11 & Cerra

Whose body has let him down, in one fashion or another, ever since we drafted him.

He's a beauty, Jesse, but he's a liability in my view.

Any AFL Player is a second away from injury

a 23 year old Key Forward has years left...

talk of KK going separately, interesting

If Cerra is included in this trade i will be very happy, good news

Would be astounded if a player of his quality who only signed on a couple of months ago was kept completely under wraps by the media and both clubs to come out like this at the last minute. Just doesn't happen like that.

More likely that we manage to keep pick 6 and Brisbane trading May to us for a 4th rounder!

I can’t see either Bell or Mahoney backing down so it’s a standoff and Jesse stays.

Melbourne won’t cave on 11 unless GCS would accept it.

Pick 6 or 11 is irrelevant for Melbourne, it’s about facilitating May and KK deal.

Hogan is still contracted for 2019 so Melbourne can sit tight and not agree to trade as that outcome is still palatable.  This is precisely why this is the year to trade him if it’s going to happen.

I realise that, but he's got an extensive history of breaking down.

Jesse could go on for the rest of his career injury free, and good luck to him (personally) if he does.  But I have my doubts.

Steve May's manager Alex McDonald has just made his way to Marvel. Dees looking likely to get their man.

fingers, toes are crossed but I suspect a double-cross from Freo and Brizzy.

6 or 11 is relevant given the possibility of the earlier pick being traded into more picks or players than 11 could. Whether that happens is another thing.

And there goes 19.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
