I love Jesse but he would go home with the blessing of all Demon supporters surely.  The bloke has been through some dark times in his personal life.

Cant help but get excited over the haul we would get in return for him.  Could set us up for 15 years.

Could also set us back quite a few if its not handled right!

Heres the current draft order.  Gold Coast and Freo hold picks 2 and 5.  I would want both for Hogan, and nothing less.

i agree with this but I reckon it'll be one first round this year and next years as well - just like the Lever trade. Freo will be woeful again next year so we should get another high pick unless of course we burn it this year (trade future picks) scenario.

FML.

I'm rather dismayed this is happening.

Interesting timing with the changeover of CEO. I know Mahoney is doing the negotiating but the CEO crunches the numbers and who has the final say Peter or Gary?

And let the funni season begin!

Didnt take long to fire up after our last match.

Good luck at Freo Hoges.

It does have that feeling doesnt it. But I think we need to wait until we see the deal. Surely the cap space that it opens must also put us in the running for some of the bigger free agents this year?

Mahoney , Taylor and their crew haven't let us down once yet.  In fact they have been absolutely brilliant.

IF Jesse is determined to go west (but why would a KPF want to play under Lyon's game plan FFS?) then we must demand two high picks PLUS Andrew Brayshaw who could also legitimately claim homesickness.

well there you go, didnt want to sign up and happy to go, some egg on face in this thread now

Yeah, you'd think so.

Might be the play that ultimately lands us Gaff but also arms us with a superior hand next year for another gun.

He’s contracted so if they want him cough up your two top 10 picks this year freo.

Happy to up our offer on gaff with the room freed up and offer both those picks to try and prize out josh kelly

I am perfectly happy for Hogan to leave if in return we get Whitfield or Kelly.

Exactly what I posted.

@Patches O’houlihan says there's nothing to see here, so that's good enough for me. Probably the best track record on here.

That wasn’t based on any info I had sorry mate I just assumed it was bs like usual.

I suspect you're right, but we are being pushed to a trade we wouldn't otherwise have taken... and possibly for unders.

Get ready people. Apparently it's happening. Brace yourselves. This one will hurt.

As long as we are not the ones stuffed, leave it to the turkey.

we might be doing the carving  ;)

We paid picks 3 and 13 to get Hogan to the club. Then developed him from a teen to one of the best forwards in the game. Pick 5 alone won’t go near getting this deal done.

Although this is a blow, it can also be used to set up the side for a long time. We managed ok without Hogan while he was injured. The cap space freed up by his departure would allow us to go after someone like Gaff as well as May and still have room left over as well as a high pick(s) in a potential super draft. This could be a good thing for our overall list.

That's one of the more brutal posts I can remember reading.

Will be absolutely filthy if all we get back for him is Steven May!

Don't get me wrong, May is a good player.. but he doesn't hold a candle to Hogan's potential in my view... In addition to the fact May is 3 years older!

I think we have shown in the last few years that we get the deal done if we are after a certain player.

We all thought we paid overs for Melksham and also to a smaller degree Hibbo.  I think we can agree they have both been enormous. The two 1st picks for Lever is looking reasonable after finishing 4th also.

If we do happen to lose Hogan and get May in I think this makes us stronger now and is worth it for mine.  I think Freo will throw in a little sweetener also.

2019 flag favs!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
