Does anyone know when theyre flying out?

Theyre getting into Perth Friday, i would assume early and then a light run through on Optus stadium

Get to any training session in September   the feeling is electric, remember well the old Junction oval packed with more supporters at training than Fitzroy got at a match  Go Demons      wish I could get there !

Out of interest when are the big training days for the Pies and Toiges...

Could make for a fascinatingly crowded precinct

The Junction oval was special... everyone milling around not really sure what to do except cheer every player as they came out.

We're all not so innocent anymore perhaps.

Mind you they were late afternoon in those days and gave everyone a perfect excuse to get out of work early !!

The Junction Oval was rocking on the Thursday before the 2000 GF.

I've been twice this year, both times before games I couldn't make it to (one interstate), and we won both games

Now I'm not saying I had a lot to do with those wins.... but every little bit counts

I can't make it to Perth, so I will be there Wednesday!

Go Dees!!! ?

Lucky it's not in the afternoon !

"High (80%) chance of showers, most likely from the late morning. The chance of a thunderstorm from the late morning. Possible hail. Winds northwesterly 20 to 30 km/h tending westerly in the morning then becoming light in the evening."

Was going to go but then looked outside and it looked yuk.. so i stayed in bed.

Now its bloody sunny and clear ?‍♂️?‍♂️

Go Dees

Would kill to be there.

Something nice did just happen though, my team leader was just heading out to a site and called me to say he was driving down Punt Rd past our training. Said he could see Max lining up for goal and then I could hear him yell out the window "Go Maxy!". Was a nice gesture, not bad for a Swans fan!

Just got back. Boys looked sharp. Lots of drills around quick ball movement (unsurprisingly), good talking. Crowd of around 400-500. Very upbeat with coffee carts ice cream trucks etc. Everyone looked pumped but not overawed. Just like there was a job to to do.

Bernie looked to be training with the mids. Oscar Baker walking laps - has done his hammy again :( Same spot as last time. Corey Maynard  not training. Will be ready to go for the first pre-season session.

Maxy training the house down. Trac slotting all his goals (!)

Cheers

There’s an open training session this morning for Pies and Tigers.

Great session, suns out and guns out

Boys looked fast, real focus on quick movement

Maxy was awesome, and the mids all looked good

Pretty well unscathed, although Bugg off early after some treatment, looks gorn. No one of note started in recovery group at all

By my estimate I think closer to 800 or maybe more watching on. All the players hanging around signing and selfies - just great for the fans, and boys lapping it up

Go dees!! ?

From AFL Website:

  • After missing Monday's session to monitor his training loads, Gawn joined teammates out on Gosch's Paddock for the club's main session.
  • Both Neville Jetta and Alex Neal-Bullen, who also missed Monday's session, trained fully and look certain to face the Eagles in Saturday's preliminary final in Perth.
  • During the warm-up component of training, Gawn took the main ruck taps and worked with midfielders Angus Brayshaw, Jack Viney, Clayton Oliver and Bernie Vince, who is pushing for a recall.
  • Although the Demons are not expected to change a winning line-up, Vince and defender Joel Smith are considered to be possible inclusions.
  • Oscar McDonald got some work done on his lower back and youngster Charlie Spargo got his finger assessed and taped, but both returned to training without further concern.
  • McDonald rejoined training and seemingly moved well, but it was then decided by the club's fitness he should leave the session to avoid any further discomfort.  It seemed a precaution as much as anything, but one to keep an eye on later in the week.

Up to 1000 fans lined the boundary to watch the players train, with merchandise tents, face painting booths, food trucks and a sausage sizzle all taking place for the supporters attending.

So, looks like they will go with Gawn in the ruck this week, and not Filipovic...

Good call I think.

Another little tidbit

JKHs session was excellent, really sharp and running hard and fast

My view is that JKH will be the spare small, and J Smith the spare tall

Can't see Vince or Hunt being considered seriously and can't see the justification for another change

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
