When you are extremely pleased with something it’s ‘rapt’ not ‘wrapped’.

The difference between ‘too’ and ‘to’ and between ‘their’ and ‘there’ should be obvious unless you have a serious intellectual disability.

I could go on, but as many on here appear to be close to illiterate why bother?

Mate its a footy forum, not a board meeting..

Why are we delisting players who are still make the 22 deep into a hopeful finals campaign?

I'd hang onto all three of Kent Jkh and Tyson unless we are bringing in proven talent and experience.

I’m finding it a bit uncomfortable calling time on guys who are playing a part going into the most important month of footy the club has had in a decade.

Will be back later.

I don’t think Tyson is in our best 22 come round 1, next year. Especially if we manage to land Gaff. A club will probably sense he’s gettable, and might offer him a nice contract along with guaranteed AFL opportunities and in that case he’d probably request a trade

If you're flabbergasted by Demonland, have a look at the other 17 AFL team fan forums... I bet we sound like Poetry. But on a side note, I too am frustrated when people can't distinguish "loose and lose."

Yeah that one can be a bit frustrating.

Whike on the subject, why are there so many people in the general public (not on DL) who say ‘quite’ instead of ‘quiet’?

“Yeah that date shouldn’t be a problem mate, our factory has been quite lately.”

Hunt should be retained. He shows great potential. He just needs to think more before he passes the ball. His position on the field may not be back. Perhaps wing or forward of centre. He’s fast and can kick long and accurately. It’s just his footy smarts with disposal that need improvement.

And some even confuse ‘his’ and ‘he’s’. Including Tim Watson on SEN!!

Hang on. Why are we trading out Tyson simply for a pick? Gaff would come in as a FA. Unless you package a pick you get for Tyson to get a real 'need' onto the list, I'd be holding on to Tyson as depth.

To get someone with more speed and run into the team.  Or to trade up in this draft.

Have to trade something to get something.

Tyson is rebuilding his confidence and his disposal has picked up the last couple of weeks. Aside from confidence possibly getting used to have a little more time on outside rather than rushing disposal.

Bumping his value up.   We have too many inside slowish Mids.   And not any of value to other clubs.

Tyson would be on decent coin as well.

This is the key DL5.

And we have to continue churning, to stay near the top of the list pile.   We still have a way to climb to get to the top.

Some of our kids are currently overrated on their output.

Some are just starting to give.

Is that Welsh?

So do we now say goodbye to Messrs Bugg and Kennedy Harris.

Garlett traded perhaps as well. (What a difference a season makes).

both are out of contract so would be in danger of delisting

Can someone please tell me if Garlett has a contract next year? If so, do we have a little chat or do we keep him on next year's list? At the moment he is showing little, but there may be a reason (family etc). After 3 game this year he was being touted as the best small forward in the competition, not sure what has happened.

Contracted until the end of 2019.

Hard decision..trade (would we get much) or retain. I think he will want to go somewhere that he gets game time and the game plan suits him.

Our relatively crowded forward line does not suit him in my view.

You would think that our method of haphazardly pumping the ball inside 50 would suit him to a Tee, and it did early, but something not right with him and unless he finds his mojo, he may be a casualty I believe

Yeah not feeling good about his future with us at all now. Think that would be close to it.

Interesting on Jeffy. Ross Lyon is looking for experience, could Jeffy fit the bill? He is from WA and provided they absorb his full contract he could be had for a pick in the 50- 60s range.

Update post round 21

Retired. Balic.  Vince (likely).

Delist Johnstone (re rookie). Bugg. Jkh. McKenna. King.  Filopovic (r)

Trade - Garlett to Freo pick 55-60 ish

rookie upgrade - keilty

T smith and Maynard stay as rookied

that gives us 7 picks plus a rookie spot

add - 2 x free agents

add - 5 through draft incl Toby Bedford

add - 1 rookie

need to get a ruckman for Gawn backup

It is a concern that we have not be able to identify / draft or trade-in a capable ruckman since 2009.

rapt - feeling great rapture or delight.

Wrapped - covered with.

But let's face it, footy fan sites are exempt from grammar, spelling and sometimes commonsense and that is part of their attraction,

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
