I'm pretty happy we're taking advantage of the Cat B option. If athletes from overseas, like Cox and the Irish, can make it, then someone who's grown up playing footy can make it. No idea who this kid is, though.

184cm.  Likely position - half back.

Lives with and best mates with Joel Smith.

should have read this before I wasted my time with the Burgan interview. Did not even say his height or what type of footy player he was.

I'm surprised he's that short, if he was playing key position in juniors and is a fast bowler.

Only 184cm - no wonder he didn’t make it as a fast bowler. Interested to see his kicking and speed.

Most fast bowlers are not that tall, 184 is a good height for a bowler

Showing your age. The new generation of fast bowlers (Starc, Hazelwood, Cummins) all 190+. There aren’t too many kicking around Aus under 190 now. Australia’s loss our gain.

Just thought we were getting a 196cm key defender - I’m happy to settle for a highly skilled half back ?

Yeah, Steyn is from the stone age. I picked a selection from various era's. You said 184 was to short to be much of a fast bowler. Do you reckon any of those mentioned wouldn't be as effective now?

If he turns out no good, he should change his name to Mike so he can have a fresh start in TV and media.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
