Great. It means absolutely nothing in 2018. That's the past. This is the present.Β

Norman desrves far better than a cupboard MSF, maybe that is why he is still cursing the joint!!

To me Mr Norm Smith was the greatest coach ever, we should never forget the great man.

Who ever sacked the great man hang your head in shame.

Nobody will forget him, but let's stop blaming him for results and injuries in 2018.

I blame Norm for every loss we have had this year. It is directly, 100% hos fault

I blame my wife, she's a Cats fan too yikes

Norm was sacked and we are still recovering from it....

Β

Yep and sacked because of petty jealousies and committeemen getting too far ahead of themselves .

Sacked after 9 wins I believe in that season and Grand final appearances by the truckload Not to mention a "Golden Run of Premierships"

Whoever were the main instigators if still alive should be cringing in what they have done.

Almost Criminal !

Or stoned to death immediatelyΒ

so we only have 33 years to go to break the curse.Β  Curse of the Bambino 86 years

Ffs there are some who just love to wallow in misery. They look for reasons, excuses and curses as to why things go wrong.

Funny how they are mostly the same naysayers who can't see the big steps in improvement this year.Β

This current list are writing their own history and very few remain from the Schwab era.

Our history and connecion with it is we play at the G, we wear red and blue, we are the oldest professional football club in the world ,Β we have won 12 Premierships and we have produced many icons of the game.

Whoever sacked Norm Smith must be related to Jack Watts.

He's turned over in his grave so many times the energy could power the MCG lights.

Only the next 5 weeks will show whether we have improved or not, we have beaten no one and until we do us naysayers will be in the right.Β  Make no mistake we are all happy to be proven wrong but the side has done nothing to suggest we are.

On the curse lighten up, like the Curse of the Bambino it was something to blame and it gained more momentum with each year they missed out.Β  Both clubs just had a massive event that lead to a longΒ periods of defeat, the synergy is there and we will have some fun with it until we win our next premiership

It was 'the curse',,, that took Norm. SWYL.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.Β

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
