Regrettably, have to agree. $4 to miss the 8 was too good to pass up, as was the $4 for WCE to make the grand final

Yup. I will still support them but The moment we lost to the saints and had to win 4 of the remaining with really on the bullies and suns being likely wins I figured we had blew it.

Otherresults kee p us in it, but I don’t see where the other 2 wins come from. Maybe Adelaide and Sydney but wouldn’t bank on either.

wont beat cats or eagles. GWS seems unlikely too.

We dominated Port like no tomorrow and failed v Saints, those two games ending in losses made the uphill battle ahead very steep. Another learning curve brutally displayed again.

Here is my final ladder and that’s with us only beating Gold Coast and Sydney, play Geelong 1st final which I think the players would like that opportunity after our 2 losses to them this year I think 12 wins is enough now with sides around us losing I have Sydney dropping out

Sydney won't drop that far and if they do you have assumed they beat us but lose the rest.... strange permutations .. but then again... who knows

I had us beating swans and Gold Coast on way home, Sydney have a tough run now so could miss

bombers

pies

dees

gws

hawks

could make an argument they don’t win any of those

We need to win 3 of our last 5, which includes 2 of Adelaide, West Coast, Swans and GWS. I have been bullish about us making the 8 but think we will finish 9th, 1 game behind Geelong in 8th.

We will make the finals, and I pray we get an Elimination Final vs Geelong.

How sweet it would be to beat them in a final and and their dreams.  We owe them.

not making the finals guys. ever since we lost to port and stkilda i didnt think we were a chance. and im usually right with these things

I suspect 12 wins with our % may well be enough. And we should beat the suns. So we need to win one more, and maintain our %. If we are serious we should be able to win at least a couple plus the suns game.

Am thinking the Sqawkers are maybe a good chance to win 3 more...maybe 4. They're finding form....and run home so-so

Giants showing spirit..

Anyone who thinks we're just waltzing into finals with 13...let alone 12 might be very disappointed

If we only beat Adelaide out of the harder marches and end up with 12 wins only, we can make it if the bombers upset port or the hawks, according to the ladder predictor results i entered

You'll do your head in playing with the ladder predictor... Who'd have tipped the Suns over Sydney on the weekend. Having said that if results go the way they should, I have us finishing 5th 14 wins. At a minimum we must beat GC & 2 of Adelaide, Sydney, WC, GWS.. It actually makes me feel ill thinking about the final 5 weeks, I will not cope if we miss the 8 again

That means we can only lose 1 more game. I can't see that happening. I am worried that the loss on the weekend will have a real draining effect on the players. People also seem to be dismissing Adelaide and essenscum from making the finals. They both realistically can.

It can really go one of two ways... It spurs them on or the young group goes back into it's shell & it all turns to [censored].. We'll really find out how the end to last season sat with them, if it hurt as much as they say there is no way they let it happen again & miss the 8.

I think we win 3 of the remaining 5. This week is beyond huge.  Last week was massive in regards to top 4 & cementing top 8 spot but it's almost do or die this week.

The biggest concern for me is we need to string it all together and build into the finals.

We trip once...got to pick yourself up again knowing to can't trip again. Massive pressure on a developing team.

Footy is mainly between the ears. Tis a big ask for a still unsettled team

Did the Ladder predictor although its a largely useless tool. I penicilled in as many realistic upsets as possible, and a couple that likely have no chance of happening.

There is no way 12 wins is going to make the 8.     Its 13 minimum.

After Saturday it’ll be tough. Geelong will make the 8 so one to fall out.

If we lose to the crows I think we are done. Can’t see us winning the last two rounds.

Even with the odd crazy result, there are so many teams there or thereabouts that I can’t see 12 wins being enough.

Must beat Adelaide or it’s curtains.

You're usually right with predicting Melbourne won't make the finals? You must be Nostradamus.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. Firstly the bad news - McVee went down late, which does look like a bad hammy - towards the end of match sim, as he kicked the ball. Had to

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
