I recall a couple of years ago many thought Oscar hopeless. Today he is our main key back.

He has played two good games this year for Casey both against Coburg who  cannot beat time with a stick. What else has he done?

Any preferences of Gaff over Sloane?

Gaff, please ... still think he is the goods for our team.

Neither could Ringo, but he was still the drummer for the greatest band in the world.

Weid is developing and most good players don't necessarily rip the VFL apart, as it is played somewhat differently and with less skill in passing the ball etc.

I think Weid will be the regular 3rd key forward next year.

What do people think about trying to get Dalhaus in as a FA? Hes quick, tough and a good tackler. The Bulldogs CEO said tonight that discussions are ongoing but they aren't any closer to closing the gap.

Trade out Tyson!  He has played good in patches however, has not met expectations.

would also put Kent on trade table.

Soidee - seriously what do you really believe we could get for them?

With the form of the VFL side I suddenly think Johnstone and Keilty are safe.

McKenna and Vandenberg have 2 months to prove themselves.

Can T.Smith, Keilty and Maynard all be 3rd year rookies?

So the delistings will be minimal. JKH, Bugg and Pedo.

Trade bait Tyson and Kent, I would hold onto Garlett for another year to see if he can turn things around.

If we can’t get Gaff, then I completely agree he should be the secondary target

I thought T Smith was elevated to the main list

Your allow to elevate a rookie at the start of the year (Maynard) due to injuries (T.Smith) and the middle of the year I think. They can be elevated at the end of the year or stay on the rookie list.

Sorry, what I meant was that I thought he wasn't a rookie anymore. Who did we put on the main list at the draft last year?

Any gun key position defenders we can poach?   It looks like slim pickings.

This team desperately needs one....   could we sign Adelaides McGovern and turn him into a KPD?

I know hes just started playing WAFL level after having foot issues, but I'd sign Eric Mckenzie from West Coast on a 1 year deal. While we have Lever out, we need a hardened experience defender who can add leadership down back.

Former best and fairest winner at the eagles and was Co Captain at some stage also. 196cm 100kg key back who would be handy until Lever comes back and Petty develops.

I've heard he has had further problems with his foot and is a strong chance to retire by seasons end. I would have happily nabbed him otherwise.

After the StKilda game, it appears that he has reverted to hopeless. Roos' legacy is nearly spent. Hibberd is the only player who really lifts and works hard covering the whole backline out of necessity.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
