Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Alice Springs game

Those coming up for the game, if any, don’t make it a hit and run. Central Australia is amazingly beautiful, you can be busy for a month and not see all the sites. Anyone coming up for the game and want some advice on the area, feel free to ask and will do my best to guide you in the right direction

Happily catch up if I can, but again, if you haven’t been up here give yourself some time, if possible do a 3 day tour to Uluru, Kata-Tjuṯa and Kings canyon, if just a spare day, the West MacDonnell ranges are spectacular

And if doing a 3 day tour, best and cheapest way to do it is fly into Yulara (Uluru) and do the tour finishing in Alice, if timed right with airfares, the savings on airfare will pay for tour. I know a bit of the tour companies, so before booking, let me know, will give advice

With tours, more expensive ones, Outback Tour Services (who do Adventure Australia and intrepid tours) and Wayoutback, 3 day tours for about $800 camping, both good with pros and cons for both, OTS better food, touch better itinerary but WOB have an awesome Kings Canyon campsite. Cheaper tours, in a swag (brilliant) for about $400, highly recommend doing it through Mulgas, best of cheaper option by far, though OTS have an basics option for under $600, which is good value

How much spare time do you have? In Alice itself, some nice places, but better to get out if you can

If people are interested, can chuck some of you in my car and do a tour of the West Macs for a minimal cost...

Arrive On the Saturday and only have one day before the game. Wheres West Macs?

There is the West and East Mac’s, Alice in middle.

would depend what time you arrive on the Saturday if West Macs a viable option ( you could spend many days exploring them, a full day would just include some of the highlights)

A big thanks RGRS.

It is definitely on my bucket list and I will avail myself of your kind offer for next year's game.

Frankly I am surprised it is not better marketed to MFC fans but then again as an independent traveller I am always suspicious of the world of package tours.

Also as part of indigenous round it should be given a hell of a lot more prominence back in the southern markets. I could back the game under the stars or similar as a destinational national blockbuster... sorry I don't love Darwin.

We’ve got Macdonalds restaurants all over Melbourne Rod. You must have access to some pretty spectacular natural landscapes instead??

Thinking about it for next year.

What about the slow road trip via say Mildura and Broken Hill. In a non 4 wheel drive city car.

Any ideas of nice places to stop and see along the way and of course the Rock (accomodation is pricey there and hard to get but you only go once or twice !!) Don't mind staying at old pubs or the like rather than the usual characterless Aussie motel.

Not really, unless you did a private tour, most companies have a minimum age of 8, too much hiking involved

Camp at the rock, hotels priciest in country. On that drive, I am not really knowledgeable

Bump.

Most days the last week have been around 20degrees here, warming up with a high forecast of 26. Can’t wait for the game! Dees flying up on Saturday I believe, so expecting some sort of light training run in the afternoon. Some players (injured) and staff will come up earlier and continue the good community work that they have done in the past.

Anyone staying at Lasseters? I was banned from their about 12 years ago. I’m heading over for this game with a mate who goes for Adelaide. We’ll probably end up at the Casino. I’ve ordered a fake nose and glasses.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
