I think hes been pretty good. Stepped up in the absence of TMac and been consistant. Its been a real positive actually.

I am do not like the negativity. I know it is my choice to read these forums - nobody is making me but I always feel 1000 times worse after tuning in here after a loss. I have decided not to read anything for the next week and just hope our next game against last years premiers is a competitive one and we learn from yesterdays errors.

I seriously do not believe any player goes out not wanting to win and intentionally plays poorly.

Go Dees.

A game that became a training run for Hawthorn and all the fun of a root canal for us.

Some decry the negativity.... I'm searching for the positivity !!

September holiday seems on the cards.

I tipped against us in both the Lions and North games.     We got over the line but there were the usual MFC lapses in both games, as well as the Geelong game, that made it feel like not much has changed.

Yesterdays game proved that to be true.   Theres  a lot of work to be done.

It's never good when players throw the towel in. They did that yesterday. It is usually a sign of trouble with the coaching ranks or lack of on-field leadership. I suspect we have a bit of both.

I wonder what the instructions were at 3/4 time when we hadn't kicked a goal in 2 quarters of football?

I suspect Trouble at Mill.

Goody will be on borrowed time with some players. Other staff already affecting things for the detriment ( and has form )

It's not happy families I'm sensing.

Wheels have fallen off. Why ?

Just when we should be going forward and up... we're stumbling and falling.

There was dissention before the season. Something is wrong.

I don't think Werridee is suggesting yesterday's performance was anything other than awful - it wasn't. It was dreadful and you'd have to be stone hearted not to have finished that game not at least a bit pizzed off by it.

It's just that the sack Goodwin, we're doomed, it's all been for nothing, we're never going to be good crap is totally over the top.

At what point can we discuss Goodwin?

Let's put some numbers around it.

Mid season when we're bottom 6? With a % with an 8 handle?

End of season? When?

That tells me the players don't fear the consequences. Which are driven by the coach, no?

Or simply don't care enough. Which is fine for the MFC, the club coaching administration has for a long time accepted middling mediocrity as good enough. Maybe it's fans fault for not wielding pitchforks outside HQ, demanding tribute in the form of heads on pikes.

The problem with the MFC is the shoulders are shrugged and onward.

I thought with Roos coming in it might change. So it shows the systemically poor culture of the club that it all fell apart when he left.

There's no ruthlessness.

Sure we can talk about positives but they were few and far btw.

Realistically speaking yesterday wasnt disappointing it was disgusting.

We have been bragging about not just a final 8 team but a seroius top 4 team.

We just gave up yesterday and it suggests quite strongly that we have gone backwards.

Yes I will keep buying memberzhips and supporting this club but there needs to be accountability.

Its nots negative to be angry about that insipid performance its realistic.

If you want to talk about leprechauns and pixies all well and good but allow the rest of us to tell the truth when we give our hard earned over to this club.

If we get pumped again next game, you have to ask are the players playing for the coach?

I was feeling so positive 24 hours ago!

  • My team had a great playing list, few injuries and great depth.
  • Our list was so healthy that the previous week the  Casey Demons’ starting eighteen comprised 100% AFL listed players and kicked 28 goals.
  • The previous week we had smashed the Kangas (and the accompanying hoodoo)!
  • We had a great coach and a well-resourced coaching structure.
  • We were destined for the finals for the first time since 2006.
  • (and I had just enjoyed a nice lunch in the Long Room)!

Then we were comprehensively demolished by Hawthorn!

I have decided to not go onto Demonland again until after we have won three matches in a row! ?

My positive from yesterday was Wagner having a go at Lewis in the last quarter after Roughead had been passed a ball from the pocket to about 20m directly in front. Wagner was seemingly telling him he should have been there in that space. Lewis seemed to have said something back but Wagner kept at him. Maybe he has some leadership qualities, I wonder about those of Lewis...

Negativity is just not on this board.

"We can choose to pursue excellence and, like the Tigers and the Doggies, draw a line under decades of failure by standing up and showing some character in 2018. Or we can squander all the talent and riches bestowed on us by the draft and continue to muddle through, go missing for quarters at a time (as we do every week), and waste a golden generation of talent. It's embarrassing to be a MFC supporter.

If it's not the club and embarrassing performances then it's the supporters who are embarrassing. Nothing wrong being upset but wowee

Too many nuff nuffs with opinion these days. .. yay for social media

Veteran Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin returned to the training track to bring you the following observations from Gosch's Paddock this morning. Beautiful morning for training. The dew has dried, out from AAMI, quiet chatting. Maysie does his heart symbol. 7 in rehab, Turner, Hore, Sestan, BBB, Petty, Spargo and Schache. All in runners. Melky weighted and change of angles work. Salem has his individual program. White cap (no contact), Howes, Woewodin and Sparrow

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
