I've never felt more positive about demonland members on this board. A lot of supporters listing Lewis as an out and rightly so. Get him off the park and get him off AFL360 until he makes smart choices. Giving away stupid free kicks and 50m penalties. He arguably cost us finals last year with his report and 2 games him he has arguably cost us 4 points with his stupid 50m penalty last week.

Out: Bugg, Harmes, Wagner, Lewis

No idea who comes in at this stage, our depth being good is a myth.

Bugg was diabolical.

Harmes has been completely ineffectual.

Wagner wasn't so bad later in the game but we need probably Frost to take one of Brown or Waite to free up Lever.

Lewis has become a liability.

Nailed it.

Wagner did enough IMHO to warrant another week!

I don't agree!

And Lewis had about 5 howlers that were cringeworthy but I know the club see him as a net positive. And let's be honest, he will play if fit. He also had 10 intercept possies which is pretty good.

Vince did a job on Zorko - he only had 9 uncontested possessions - so he still has it does Bernie.

Lever is adjusting to being the second defender as opposed to the third and it is a struggle at the minute... He panicked a few times...young players and all that.

Another adjusting is Salem but if we are to turn him into a mid then two months, rather than two weeks, will need to be had before judgement can be made. He was also 2nd in pressure acts to Oliver.

Tyson just finds the footy, he can make some mistakes but I prefer him to many others.

Harmes sneaks up you but he ANB, Melksham, and Hunt are our link players and they are our bellwether I think - our transition relies on them.

You want Lewis out of the side but then go on to say he cost us finals last year by being out of the side???

In: Frost, Brayshaw

Out: Wagner, Bugg

Gus rotates through the middle. Salem returns to a HBF. Frost rotates through Waite and Brown allowing Lever to play on the third forward and Hibberd to play on a small. Would consider playing Hunt as that defensive forward to run him back into form.

INS: Frost, Weideman, Kent,  Brayshaw

OUTS: Harmes, Pederson, Neal-Bullen,  Bugg

Frost to free up Lever. Oscar takes Ben Brown

weideman apparently played well forward and relief rucking in the twos. More class than pedo

Kent has more hardness around the ball than any of bugg, neal-bullen or Harmes.

brayshaw too much class to leave out when fit.

Much more run in this team.

All four replacements likely to be to be in our best 22.

Current worries: current form of Hunt & Jetta, Jordon Lewis makes too many mistakes at crucial times in a game. Also seems to have lost some pace from last year.

Surprised no one is mentioning the golden boy who had the amazing preseason

kicked 0.4 in two games. Last chance this week for mine.

in frost brayshaw

out Frisch bugg

Presumably you think #31 is injured .... surely you are not dropping him.

Bugg's biggest issue, and he has a few, is his horrible goal conversion. Not only is he innacurate he sucks the life out of the team at crucial stages when a good passage of play should be rewarded. This was evident last night when he could have put a dagger in the Lion hearts but failed yet again.

He had to kick that goal. I'd love to know his conversion rate for shots inside 35.

Why Harmes?

cos he fumbles and cos he can only kick up and unders. also as a mid, his goals have dried up. AND he's too slow with decision-making. gets caught quite a lot holding the ball (overestimates his pace). however, despite all this, i do like him. as long as he doesn't overestimate his own ability and plays simple. better when he rotates up forward.. he isn't a 100% mid.

Brayshaw for Salem.  The thing I clearly notice, Goodwin praises the team far too much.  They go missing in almost every game for far too long.  Easily the most frustrating team to praise too early because they predictably drop off. Goodwin might go hard in private, however on match day he seems slow to react to oppo run ons.  My wish is that this group play 4 quarters consistently.  Heart attack team to watch!

Out: Harmes, Bugg, Wagner

In: Brayshaw, Stretch, Frost

Hunt, Jetta, Salem look out of form but they provide something that the reserves don't have. If they find their form, we are better team so they stay for another week.

Harmes, Bugg, Wagner best is still marginal. Brayshaw n frost should be best 22.

Those calling for Kent to be included:

He had a woeful second half of the VFL season

he was put up for trade over the off season and no one wanted him even as a fringe player

On Friday Casey played Frankston... they are a scratch VFL side like the original Gold Coast Bears... cobbled together from players who were not at the top of their game in other VFL sides... (no disrespect intended to Frankston but that is the reality.)

In the previous practice game I cannot remember him setting the ground alight... (could be wrong on this.)

Sorry ... not yet from me.

Spot on Diamond. Kent was horrible when in the team last year - refused to bend over to pick up the ball, totally one sided and always goes for the hero kick which never comes off. His kicking is overrated imo.

His league performances last year were nothing short of woeful and I am surprised he is still on our list.

He needs to string many strong performances together before he should get a look in

What is it with the "Wagner out" brigade here? He was fine, and won't be dropped.

If you want scapegoats in the backline and who are under-performing, the two to go are Hunt and Jetta.

For the record, I also think Hibbard and Jetta have got form issues and have been solid without being at their normal output levels and that also won't be helping the Lever situation.  I don't think Wagner isn't as bad as some people make out either.

Agree on Jetta, not so sure on Hibbard. Feel that the backline are still adjusting to playing together, and roles are still being (re) defined, Hibbard's as much as anyone.

Hunt's another one down there that seems a bit lost/down on form.

Yes, Jetta is probably struggling the most, not sure why.  The way Charlie Cameron was playing on Saturday night, I think Jetta was constantly on the back foot and Charlie seemed to be much quicker than Cyril and Betts are these days that Jetta usually does so well on, so it makes a pretty tough assignment to judge Jetta on.  He wasn't his usual self against Geelong either though.

However, whilst he is possibly down on form and beaten on the night, I was still impressed that his effort and commitment to the contest was their.  The way he put his body on the line in that marking contest in the second quarter was outstanding.  Bodes well for the weeks and months ahead, when I'm hoping that him and others find their mojo back again.

I've said all year that we need to rotate our players this season to keep them happy and keen because we bat deep to about 30 and to be honest, from players eight to 30 is purely subjective - they all can play at AFL level and do their bit and make the odd error at the same time.

So instead of suggesting changes I'll say this:

My top 8 that must not be dropped this week are: Oliver, Jones, Gawn, Trac, Hoges, Garlett, Hibberd and based on his form of the first two weeks - Bernie.

The rest, as your comments have shown above, could be omitted depending on Goody's whim. And I'd suggest after watching Jack Watts play today, our coach will be in a pretty whimsical mood.

As with others I'd love to see Frost, Brayshaw, Stretch and even the reformed Kent back in the side this week, but how Goody achieves that without someone being injured or banned is beyond me.

But I'll say this, if we don't beat North this week, it will become a lot easier to find room for the four of them.
