So many impatient people.

How good was he today.,..  wowee oh oh boy!   The stats look good but what about the attack on the ball , urgency and aerial work and most surprisingly, the athleticism.

If we trade this kid to the Pies for that spud Darcy Moore as was rumoured a month ago, I will spew.

He’s connected to Collingwood by lineage. Having them make rumours up about him is just part of the territory. I’d be amazed if there was any truth to that at all.

Super. It's one thing to say he's offering a target inside fifty... another altogether to say he's giving Gawn a chop out, who ALSO can go forward now.

His leap and timing for overhead marks is so pure. It's textbook perfect! Great to see him start sticking them now. Like I said earlier in this thread, he's got all the tools to be a good key forward, just needs to get fitter so he can stay involved for four quarters. Today he took another step towards that.

Looking very promising and definitely worthy of a place in our best 22 for finals!

This was the best I've seen of the Weid.

He looked confident. It was as if he finally felt comfortable in the big time.

The club has developed him well and he is coming good at just the right time.

Yeah Uncle and did he remind me of a young Neeeeta today!??

He attacks the ball with intent and tackles ferociously. He just needs to take his marks. He is going to be a really good player. Just needed time, he got that. He will still need more time, but should have a really good 2019.

I just love Weed.  So much so that Bob Marley had a t-shirt with my face on it.

Bob had probably just had a reefer in celebration!?

His ability to pick it up off the deck and handball accurately on either side might be his best skill. It's top draw. Combined with a nice leap it's made him an effective ruck option. Playing him in the ruck at Casey has really improved him. I can really see him being used in the ruck a lot next year with Max playing forward.

Leap for the ball is good and can clunk them, should only get better there. Goal kicking looked good at Casey, bad at AFL level, so that means confidence. Technique is solid.

Watching the post game interview his arms look well defined but you can see there's really not all that much of them and he doesn't really fill out the jumper. Got to get him training with Tommy Mc over preseason because if he had Tom's strength and anything like his endurance he'd be a force!

He's holding his marks now but what impressed me most was that goal he kicked.

I think he miskicked that from the TV. Looked like one of those ones that curved late due to a miskick, could be wrong though

I think that's just his style, a lot of his VFL goals look similar to that one.

I'm just about ready to concede that I may have got this one wrong. I rate Phil Davis really highly and he easily held his own in that matchup.

And lets remember, he has been messed up during past preseasons with ankle injuries...  so hasn't really had big preseasons, for fitness.

Again, last preseason (2018), was a shortened preseason for him, Re surgery,   and so he had a delayed start to this season.

He hasn't found his fluency in his kicking just yet, at AFL level...  but today was better than last week.

For him, Its just a mater of feeling more comfortable out there. I'm sure.

Good contribution knuckle dragger. The ball definitely swings strongly and looks like he miskicked it. Doesn’t mean he wasn’t aiming at goals, but he definitely didn’t kick it sweetly

It looked better on TV than it did from behind the goals. Bit of a floater that seemed to dip at the goal at the last second. Great result for him though. He'll be ramming them through from 50 on a regular basis next year

May well have played his breakout game today. Is building really nicely. Was always in front, brought the ball to the ground when he needed to and took some nice marks. Well done, Sammy.

i love his athleticism. just needs to get his kicking more consistent but his form is another reason that i wanted hogan out of the team. i want hungry, desperate players and thelast 2 weeks shows the culture of all 22 applying defensive pressure.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
