I don’t think he even had a moonboot on at the Brownlow...

Believe the that he won't take part in full training till after Xmas, rehab group until then.

I don't care if he has a delayed start to the season proper, we've seen first hand how foot injuries can potentially be career destroying, i'd rather be precautious and have him for the next 10 years than try and get him ready for the season proper.

I feel we rushed him back way too early after he hurt his foot late in the season, don't want it to happen again......ever.

It passed the ultimate fitness test earlier this month: dancing one leg on Wattsy’s grave.

Only serious.

This was on the MFC website a little while ago confirming him and TMac would have delayed starts to the season.

This is concerning especially if it doesn’t heal correctly.

Would hate for this to be a continually managed injury which will affect his preparation and season 2018.

He is too important to us to be in and out of the team.

This was a pre emptive strike

Stops all the noise at the start of pre season

I saw Tommy Mc the other week as well, all good

Trust in the medical staff, they'll have Viney on a short leash

Good to hear about TMac.

I just have a bad feeling that Vineys foot will be an ongoing issue and will affect his season.

Hope I’m wrong but time will tell.

Wiping the tears of laughter out of my eyes as we speak.

The Watts whiners can seemingly find a way to include Jack in every topic. Let it go Ron.

Did we ever hear what the injury was?  The only specifics I ever heard was that it wasn’t a repeat of the plantar fascia injury...

I probably should've called it Vineys Feet not Foot because I understood that it might have affected both? I agree with the posters about taking as long as nexxe

Hi Martin.

You were certain more would happen in trade week.

What happened ?

Your autocorrect appears to have gone rogue.

Soon enough he will be 'training the house down'.....

We have had no news out of the club except that he and TMac will have a delayed start.  It is a great question  - do we know anything more?  Nate Jones is out running - are there any instagram posts or anything about what Viney is up to?

BTW, I reckon a few posters should sign off from Demonland for a few weeks.  Honestly, every thread is full of how bad everything is, how poorly we manage the players, how underwhelming our coaching staff is, how player X is a spud, how we mishandled Watts exit, how we paid too much for Lever...  Did I miss anything??

Fhark me!  Sure we had a crap end to the year.  But time for some of you to let go of your little hobby horses and engage in the damned conversation at hand. (I suppose this is my hobby horse!)

Hard to keep your eyes open when you yawn so much.

i can now add incorrect to irrelevant.

I have it on good authority that he's in for a weekly pedi,  and has even had a few sneaky manis. My source quoted him as saying 'I want hands like Oliver!'

No stone left unturned at MFC.

Glad someone still has their sense of humour MR. Seems to be missing from quite a lot since the end of August.

Had a long talk to him in the Mahogany Room prior to the B&F and had normal shoes on. Was really pleased Lever was joining us and looking forward to training with him. Will bring a lot to the team. I never broached the "Jack" topic with him. He really understood the anger and frustration from the supporters (well me anyway) with the late season fade out. A real gentleman and displays a real love of our club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
