I hope one of those later picks is used to pick up Fritsch. The FD have said this draft they want to shore up our midfield so unsure who the targets are. I doubt tht McKenna returning from injury or Balic are the a graders we need.  Bernie, Jordan and to a lesser extent Nathan all at the twilight end of their careers.

I usually like jay Clark he has good mail, but that amateurish crap he pulled today was just beyond a joke, anyone could be a journalist these days

He obviously ran with something before confirming with the club and someone from the club has called him back pretty quickly to set the record straight.

His initial tweet represented everything that is wrong with today's afl media, but at least he set the record straight with the follow up tweet.

Most others wouldn't have.

Jesse is staying with our club, he said so himself. Given this, can I please suggest we quash any talk of him being traded and what his value would be?

Are you trying to drive his price up? Clever

F$&@king unbelievable

Just say whatever you want and then change your mind.

Take a long walk Jay Clark....

It's the times we are in. Instant gratification, click bait , Kardashians ffs etc.  Hardly anything put up is actually credible if you drill down into them. Probably the one thing ol Donny will be remembered for as being absolutely on the money is the notion of Fake News.

Journalists were once an honoured brigade.  Now their descent into media hackery makes it hard to believe anything from anyone. The few good ones are tarred with a very big brush these days.

The other side of the coin is it seems the general populace have dumbed down to accommodate also. Only have to look at the drivel on telly and even some of the 'sensational' stuff on the non-fta. Look how people are slaves to popular icons. The modern person often just wants a distraction from the durge.

The Trade period is called a Circus for a very good reason; it's full of smoke and mirrors, of grandstanding, of supposed death defying scoops  but we all know the Circus is a Show . It's sensational by its very nature.  Those driving the show understand this and play their games.

Quite frankly the only aspect of this time of year that is real  is how the lists look AFTER it. Sideshow alley until then.

You mean JT or JM :-)

Agree though. We haven't kept a second round pick once in the Roos-Goodwin era.

2013 ours went in the Tyson trade, and the one we received as compo for Col Sylvia went for Vince

2014 - Frost trade

2015 - Melksham trade

2016 - Hibberd trade

Having two of them in our possession would scream "other purpose" given that history.

typo..JM :) cheers

You can just about extend that to the whole JT era.

2012 Dawes pick 20/pick 26 reserved for Jack Viney.

Maybe Watts and Motlop joining the Power will be enough for Wines to want to leave??

nothing like Port adding some steel and consistency to their line up

Now that's juicy! Where'd you hear that Clint?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
