Bernie Vince on report

I gave up long ago trying to work out the MRP and its disgraceful bias. But this is [censored] outrageous.

The more I watch it the worse it gets.

Jones actually changes direction at the last moment to bump Hannan.

The point is, if Vince gets done for his bump (the Betts elbow is another matter) we should contest based on the Jones case.

It's official, Vince got two games for his elbow on Betts and a fine for his bump. It must be noted that Zak Jones did not receive a fine for his bump.

Oh, and Dustin Martin got off because the MRP said it was an "open hand".

Appeal Appeal Appeal. Just bring up Schofield as precedent, they clearly authorised slight elbows to the head all of two weeks ago. This was on a par with Schofield to me, more contact but equally as severe (as in not very)

Yep. Nothing to lose by appealing.

Schofield got 2 down to 1 originally too

I guess his bad record went against him, and the trial by media doesn't help you can tell by Monday morning who will be suspended or not, MRP Just reads the paper and decides

Might aswell appeal this he can't get an extra week we have nothing to lose, hire the dude who represented schofield

So Vince gets two seperate penalties for two offences. Suspension and a fine.

Whereas Dusty who is already sitting on one fine, get a single fine for the two offences, cause giving him separate fines = 3 for season = suspension.

Never seen such a concerted effort to make sure they didn't have any film on Martin punching that bloke from Brisbane. Reckon put the money on now, he's a moral (poor choice of word) The Media are bigger yellow maggots than the yellow maggots .

Must appeal.  Time to stop bending over to the AFL and its insane MRP.

Just appeal, MFC, nothing to lose. If Bernie cops an extra week, so be it, but surely we can site the Schofield precedent??!!

If that's true, I must revise my accusation that the MRP is insane.  It is totally corrupt.  The AFL sickens me.  Let me count the ways...

AFL report actually states 3 down to 2 with a guilty plea. Original 2 game ban plus 1 for bad record, can except 2 with early plea. Not sure we appeal.

2 weeks .. take it and move on

Port game is almost a certain loss ... he will be missed against North at iceberg Park but at least back for a tilt at the Giants in the Nation's Capitol !!

they also said martin's action wasn't deliberate.....go figure

It would be pretty hard to argue that his elbow was "insufficient force".

Just a dumb thing to do.

Why? Thats what Schofield argued isnt it??

on that logic, may as well appeal and have him rubbed out for all 3.

What a dick head.

Fairdinkum especially when we have enough players out.

Stupid stupid act.

Totally corrupt or in with the bookies? Interesting that Martins brownlow odds didnt change between the incident and the MRP report isnt it? Youd think with a risk of suspension hanging over his head they might be suspended at least. If this was a cricket match, they'd be in jail.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
