Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

TGR , focus on tonight. 99% of people couldn't care less about Sam Newman's opinion on any subject. If he said something about Jenner which you didn't like, ignore it. People will always have divergent views on something a little controversial or different. I couldn't give a flying fruit bat about Jenner's life choices or frankly your opinion about someone's reaction to them. You've got better things to do.

So which part of what Newman's comments about Jenner did you find offensive? I dont understand the backlash against him, hence my comment re: Political Correctness.

PS: I think Newman is a [censored] most of the time.

If you had a TG kid, come around to my place and I'll refer to it as 'it'.

You won't be offended, so I will take the liberty.

Danger is a great player and an articulate person.  But he doesn't have a lot of cred with me.

Adelaide picked him up at pick 10, left him in school for a year for no benefit, put a lot of IP and footy smarts into him, developed him beautifully and then, I believe in the year Walsh was murdered, walked out on the club when they desperately needed him.

Homesick?  Give me a break.  Geelong is 90 minutes away, he gets multiple weeks holiday a year to be with family, he would have been as financially successful at Adelaide and perhaps equally or more successful in his playing career if he'd stayed.  There are literally tens of thousands of people in many walks of life that move from home to pursue a career and make sacrifices to achieve success.  But Danger was too precious.  Ran out on a club that had invested big time and done absolutely everything right by him.  But he was a little homesick so walked out on those that played a big part in making him what he is.

He like Judd is smart.  The media won't take him on.  Love watching him, respect him as a footballer but not a person.

Totally disagree.

His family is massive and tight.  Sacrificed a bit of dough to return to Moggs Creek, or wherever he lives.  Grew up barracking for Geelong.

He followed his heart in an era where heart and brain and principle in a full-time footballer is a rare combo.

Agree with you TGR. His intelligence is utterly refreshing, just like Hodges commentary and stands in stark contrast to everything else. But you wont get anywhere on this topic because die hard DLers think every non demon player is a [censored] of the highest order and every other club, a pack of rats on a sinking ship

I agree with you DDavey, Danger is very bright and knows his football but I would suggest he not engage in non-football issues.

Why should Sam apologise? Political Correctness will destroy this country .

Bruce Jenner was a man who competed in the Olympics, was married and had children and now is now a fully functioning women. I'm confused to what he or she is meant to be.

She's a woman. But gender doesn't matter, she's a person, and a [censored] one at that. Killed a 69 year old lady in a car crash and failed to take any responsibility.

And is responsible for one of the most vile families that kids these days now look up to as role models. The respect society shows this idiot is a joke.

There are far more worthy of the spotlight  transgender people than Caitlyn Jenner.

Wrong. It's just tedious and garbage. Care factor zero.

The game needs more players of Danger's calibre.

Some of the supporter bias on here is [censored] hideous.

Some of the preoccupation with the 'character' of any player is even more hideous. Uprighteous twaddle,Melbourne player or otherwise. No doubt u think that Houli should receive a knighthood for being such an amazing person. Let's focus whether Hunt plays.

Utter garbage.

Adelaide seem to be doing it tough without him sitting second on the ladder and all...

Would love for you to find a quote from him stating that he was "homesick". The word 'homesick' infers something very different. He wasn't a young 18 or 19 year old kid when he decided to leave. He'd spent eight years at the club and given them his all.

Out of interest, what do you think of James Frawley as a "person"?

I mean, I'm assuming that you have no qualms given he played for the team you barrack for?

Hope Jordie has a good one tonight so you can perk up from your Valium overdose.

As u have always done, resort to personal attacks. You're the one so 'fascinated' by your 'chum' Dangerfield. Physiotherapy obviously obviously no longer as fulfilling. Waves a flag for a Geelong player yet can't wait for a Demon to fall. I'm off to the footy.

Yes, because lord forbid we should show respect, compassion and understanding to people who aren't cis-gender, straight, neurotypical white males.

Danger leaving may well cost Adelaide a flag. Frawley left for success - who could blame him.

I don't like Danger for the reasons I stated. I rate loyalty.

I'd be [censored] if Hogan left us. I suppose you'd admire him.

Nathan Jones for one?

You contradict yourself be stating you rate loyalty yet you give Frawley a free pass because he couldn't handle losing?

Odd.

If Hogan left after giving us eight amazing years of footy to go home and build a life, I'd completely understand. But of course be devastated.

It doesn't surprise me you disagree. You either didn't read and understand the argument or you're being deliberately argumentative.

Danger wanted for nothing at Adelaide, Frawley left for success.

I really admire Jones (and others) for sticking fat.

No if he was in a Melbourne jumper i would still cringe at half the [censored] he does now.

And i would still say hes an arrogant [censored].

I would support him as a player and thats it.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
