And once again the thread descends into Saty-bashing. Give it a rest.

At least Saty (a) makes the effort to go to training and (b) posts on Demonland so we know what he's seen. Whether we like what he says or not, surely those opinions can be withheld.

It's been said before...if you don't like what he posts you can always place him on Ignore.

Thanks Mum.

Need some Stretch. According to Plapp "was the pick of the players" on the weekend.

Not a replacement for Jones, though if we had a replacement for Jones, they'd already be playing.

Apart from that, wouldn't be surprised to see JKH get another run at it, or even Kent (forward for forward).

Hey Satyr, how's Hogan tracking, looking, feeling?

He's fine on all counts, he was practicing goal kicking with Crossy helping, he smashed one into a post from an angle quickly picked up another ball and slotted it thru from a more acute angle

Happily posed for photos and sign stuff when he finished

There are 3 photos on Instagram

Gee wiz, what a nasty lot many Demonlanders are, not sure why Satyr should cop such abuse for simply giving his opinion and whispers here on this anonymous, gossip, opinion thread? People should be thanking him for turning up to training and telling all on what he hears, even if not everything he hears eventuates. These things after all have many moving parts.

It would seem there are many posters on Demonland who spend all day searching for any small slice of information on their beloved Dees. Fair enough!  However, it seems that those same people most desperate for information are the same people who then abuse those few who regularly or even from time to time get these precious slices of info.

This reminds me of teenage boys desperate to sleep with a girl. When a girl comes around who is interested this girl in then called a [censored], and socially shamed by exactly the same boys who were soo desperate for her.   Not a very intelligent way of getting more action............. not a very intelligent way of getting more MelbourneFC info......... perhaps these people are simply not very intelligent!

it is pretty simple - read the stuff you like and skip over the stuff that irks you.

I don't and never have, particularly cared about what some posters on here think of me, their inane comments say more about them than me

The player in question told me he was playing in Perth when I spoke to him after training, so when the team is announced I won't be surprised

I am a bit like Nasher these days only post now and again because some of the puerile childish nonsense in topics is becoming tediious

Leoncelli can have his opinion on JKH, doesn't mean it is right and everybody has to agree with it

Agree JKH is not proven at AFL level doesn't mean it will never happen

Think Ben Kennedy would be pretty close to selection too. Not long till we find out!

It's not that he has an opinion it's the way he delivers it, condescending know all. I love the time he spends at training in preseason, but it descends into the same old same old when he retorts to someone else's post.

I hope Benken comes in. Real mongrel in him and can snag a goal.

JKH can blitz all he wants at VFL, but he has had multiple chances already this year and was average at best each and every time. Would need to tear the door down to get back in the team for mine.

So wait, do you know a girl or not? My cousin said you did.

Trying to be impartial here, in reading your comments to Leoncelli_36, Saty you seemed to take criticsm about players to heart, and quite personally.

I have no problem reading what you have to say on things, but equally people are allowed to have opinions of players that they like, dislike, think are spuds, or have hot girlfriends... and they should be able to express these opinions here, this then should be allowed to be debated by posters, and the moderators are required to keep things in check.

For what its worth for the thread here and keeping it on topic. I think JKH is in red hot form, but if he comes in this week, it won't be a like for like to replace Jones.

Replacing Jones will likely come from within the team.. Salem, Vince, Lewis, Petracca etc. Between those players we might get a good substitute for Jones until he's fit. Watts being out allows Gawn to come in as a more 'like for like' with Pedo still there.

That being said, Kent, Stretch, JKH if they want a wing/HFF to come in or Wagner for a HBF replacement would be my guess...

Is BenKen an option?  looking at the VFH review of last round he didn't get a write up by Plapp....

Either he was really bad, or didn't play

Duh!

Here I am looking for the team announcement at 4:25pm Perth time.....

...in Newcastle.

I think you're misunderstanding in that your reaction to his words comes from you, not him.

He has admitted, numerous times, to baiting others on purpose. Why anyone defends him is beyond me.

No it doesn't, I've defended him in the past on a number of occasions.

I'm not defending him. Irrespective of his intention (to bait etc...) your reaction is yours, nothing actually to do with him, just your decision to be righteous or indignant...

Good entertainment I guess, but lets not get delusional.

From another tack i like the intrigue. To me, it makes my humble opinion more of an educated and lucky guess, and a little satisfying at the same time. So i'll go and say if there is going to be an announcement i'll stick with Maynard.and JT.

I'll also plum for a my smelly Sherrin success and confidence speech......

Thanks for the info Saty. Always appreciated.

Cory maynard for jones

Gawn for watts

Goody has shown a preparedness to roll the dice with Hannan

From the VFL report regarding Billy Stretch:

"Billy had 24 disposals, including 17 contested possessions, eight tackles and 14 clearances".

Bring him and Gawn in for Jones and Watts. Would much prefer Stretch to JKH. He's faster, more agile, is better in the contest, and has better skills on the outside. He's also fitter, covers more ground and gets to more contests. No contest between the two IMO and I'll be disgusted if I see JKH in the team again ahead of him. He's part of our future. JKH is delist material.

I can't speak for all, but I think I share the sentiments of some.

I nearly always give a poster the benefit of the doubt when they say they have the inside word.  You can sort of tell by the content of the post, tone, etc.  Call it gut feel, but usually it isn't hard to get a pretty accurate feel for a poster's intent and the veracity of their declaration.

But I take a dim view to flagrant lying.  If someone makes himself out to be in the know when they really aren't, or they're conniving enough to make a calculated guess when sniffing the breeze as they note what's flying around on forums or in the media, then I find that behaviour reprehensible.  Especially on a forum where we rely upon each other for snippets of credible information.

A case in point is a couple of your own offerings when you said on June 4, "I have been told Hogan is playing QB".

You also said on June 6, "The word I am getting is Hogan still a likely starter. He is fit, wants to play, but faces a mixed view from footy department on whether he is mentally ready and physically conditioned. It will come down to selection committee on Thursday.  That's what I am hearing. It's from the top. It's by no means absolute. Just what I am hearing."

Then you said on June 9, "It's disappointing Hogan did not get up. It was expected he would last weekend. I never said Hogan was an absolute, just that the club was confident he would come up, that he was likely to play."

Now, you know how I mentioned gut feel before ?  My gut feel is that you lied.  The club couldn't have possibly expected Hogan to play QB because he hadn't even started training again.  Even now three weeks later he hasn't joined full training.  And your comments were supposedly "from the top".  You sniffed the breeze and erred badly.

Your above post defending Saty is really just an excuse to lash those that doubted your connections on the back of your embarrassing Hogan gaff and nothing to do with Saty and his petty squabbles.  You have a history of incorrect declarations, so the Hogan one was the last straw for me and clear evidence of fabricated club relationships.

I'll continue to assess rumours on their merit and continue to have an open-mind, until proven otherwise, such as with your goodself.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
