Post Match Discussion - Round 13

That was the best performance from our boys for quite some years. It was a fantastic performance that actually has me getting excited. I hope not prematurely though.

It was a four quarter effort with no let up in intensity. Impressed.

Lots of deserved omac love on here but let's not forget how well tmac is playing (a couple of bad kicks aside).  Definitely our first choice ruck atm and in everything.  A true force to be reckoned with.  We play Etihad well now because we are so tough. Find the bigger grounds harder due to lack of height.  Next week is a huge challenge, I'd be reluctant to drop anyone but we need height in Perth?

What quarter was that? Will watch the replay shortly.

start of the 4th kicked the ball 50m followed it up at top speed and chased it down bulldog player stuffed kick up and we cruised into an open goal. Fu$#@!& Brilliant

Just got back - great win.

Tmac was huge overhead today, Hannan probably our most improved in 2017 but so many good performances.

What's not to love about this club. And even more so now we've put on a full game performance. With gawn and hogan in - gee we look special. And the smiles / determination and commoradorie are all so incredibly positive to see. Two huge wins. Love this club.

Agreed. Premature excitement has been a bugbear for me in the past also.

Has Goodwin brought his game plan from Essendon which is Etihad based??

Does it stand up at the G?

Im not sure which way it will go but I hope we improve on the G

you don't remember winning there last week in front of 70000+ people?

Hope Wayne Carey, Dwayne Venom Denim and all those scumbags were watching today. Eat your own crap you have dished out about this great club over the years absolutely bashed them today. #stickitwherethesundontshine.:roos::pj:

Well if its a false dawn RTG, its a pretty damn good one!! :)

Great work by the club hypnotist in convincing the team at the first bounce that we were 24 points down.

This part of the season was always going to be a big component of where we finish at the end. We have tough matches but I believe we can win them all, this team fears no one.

We are one of the toughest teams in the AFL, bruise free footy is but a distant memory.

How boring is this 4 quarter effort rubbish. My heart rate barely got out of a canter.

I had an unnerving sense of calm in the last quarter,  a completely foreign emotion but I'd like to experience this again and again

Anyone else staring at the ladder for a little too long?

 Its my screensaver.

One of my favourite moments of today was seeing the look of joy and causal confidence on watts face when he kicked that goal at half time.

It was a huge goal for us I think to stop a momentum shift and the fact he just went back and slotted it no fuss was just so good the see. I think he's a good barometer to watch for the club - the fact jack is so comfortable in his own skin shows just how comfortable and quietly confident the rest of the team is as a unit.

I finish work at 10 pm tonight. Lucky for me the bottle shop closes at 11pm and is only a 30 min drive away.

Get home, watch replay.

If no replay on Foxtel, watch the Colonwood game again.

Then watch the replay of Watts' goal last week another 200 times while getting drunk

Go to bed some time tomorrow morning

Wake with hangover.

Eat box of Panadol

Toast with Vegemite

Maybe spew from hangover

Watch todays game..... maybe twice

Watch the Watts goal another 100 times while finishing bottle from last night

Probably spew again

If not in a coma, i might watch the replay again.

Recover on Tuesday while watching the replay (Maybe twice)

Life is good being a Dees supporter.

:P

Bahahahaha :)

From the age

Oscar and Tom McDonald had among the most productive days for McDonald brothers anywhere since the creation of the quarter pounder with cheese.

Not bad

Champagne football today by the boys ?

That would be 3 in a row.  =)

You are correct of course,  in defense it was before the bye  ...so long ago,   BUT when was the last time we WON three in a row   a bloody long long time ago,    Go Dees

Melksham played a selfless game, did very well shutting down JJ and got 15 touches himself and kicked a goal.

Thats off the back of his strong tagging job on Pendlebury in the first half last week, and 32 possession the week before in the win over Gold Coast.

The odds of a 19 year old kid @ pick 25 giving us more than Melksham is right now are very low, so Im gonna go ahead and say thanks Essendope for that trade, we needed a seasoned body more than another kid now that we are pushing for finals.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
