Robbie was a macho man.

Why do I keep linking Ethan Tremblay to the non-song "Nacho Man" in my mind?

I don't know Ethan from, well, a bowl of nachos. Has he previously said something that might make me think of him in this way?

I remember the Brownlow award on TV the year Dipper won.
Earlier in the night he was shown punching an essendon player with a hard straight right during a highlights package in a blatant act of thuggery that he was renowned for.
Later on that evening they put the medal around his neck.

Robbie Flower would have to be the most underrated champion in VFL/AFL history. Far and away the best Melbourne player I've seen and I barely missed any of his games. Suffered playing in poor teams,regularly played out of position and was the object of constant opposition sniping. David Parkin has been quoted as saying that he is the best player he ever coached at state level.. Even allowing for my Demon bias,how he his regularly not included in the top 50 greatest lists continues to amaze. Keith Greig won two brownlow medals and I can honestly say that Flower towelled him every time I saw them play.Doubt that I will ever see a player like Robbie again.

He may not be in some people's top 50 but he did make the AFL's team of the century from 1897 to 1996.

My apologies. I've been under this misapprehension, probably since 1996, that he was. And as much as I'd like to say he should be, it is hard looking at that team dispassionately to see who he should replace.

Keith Greg in a heartbeat. Just about saw every time they clashed,and,the most unbiased supporter would admit,that Robbie taught him a lesson on each occasion. Sure,Greig was a very good player but much easier playing in a star studded team.Won two Brownlows but so did Peter Moore.Flower much more skilled than Francis Bourke who arguably played his best football in defence. Travesty.
