Your personal relationship with JKH is clouding your judgement.

No its not,  Kent is out of form, JKH is playing his role because I asked him what it was, puts his body on the line and does the one per centers, will get on the end of goals eventually

But the again I don't pick the team

Oliver > Parish

Just took the above gem of Bomberblitz.

Gotta love it.

Some of the ferals have already called it, "season over" lol

Way over the top. TMac was best on ground, but his kicking was plain embarrassing, which dragged down his game. Tyson made a coupe of errors but I thought had a good game. I wish he'd clean up his kicks, but he wasn't horrible today

Thought Tyson worked his way into the game a little better this week. Hopefully can keep building for next week.

Nothing warms quite my cockles like beating those (censored), we owe them big time for 148

that result needs a larger * on it

Well that's a glaring oversight by the MFC!

Why do they call it...an Essington performance?

Parish will be a very good 250 game player imo but Oliver is one out of the box

11 disposals, 4 clangers, 1 tackle.

The choice isn't just purely between JKH and Kent.

I tried it training once, and when Goody and Macca stopped laughing, they said NON!!

Agreed, but who should do the kick in? Not sure Hibberd is the answer as I seem him as a distributor to the midfield after the kick in.

Salem

Unpopular opinion, but I think Garlett is close to our most important player in 2017. His goals, pressure and consistency make him irreplaceable.

Thought stats were worthless? Or is that player dependent

As I said if Goody doesn't think he played his role, JKH won't be in the team next week

Don't all commentators want the brave Essendon to win?

My brother did a fence for Hudson, said he was an arrogant piece of [censored].

Are you saying Anthony Hudson steals things to give to your brother to [censored] in hotels? I never would have guessed.

Edit: the censored word is 'golf' backwards. Who would have thought that would be censored?

This game was won when we moved Vince into the middle and Salem to half back at half time. Vince completely changes our on ball mix and his creativity comes to the four (without the costly turnover goals) and his smart body blocking clears the way for Jones et al at stoppages. With Hibberd settled I hope that is the last we see of him in the back 6. Sloppy first half but effort was good. Trac, Hannan, Watts kept really good separation on each other after half time which stopped Hurley being able to get off his man and cut us off. Good to get through with the win but also without any obvious injuries and with Viney and Tyson looking like they are on their back to form in the second half.

At a glance on that page there are some interesting poster names over there. Heptides, Coke_and_Ice and IceTemple for starters. Hmmm....

JKH underwhelming, he has the potential just no confidence, back to Casey.

Thought Vince was a lot better moving into the midfield in the 2nd half. It's were he should have been playing all along & should stay there.

Home time. ?????

I loved that Bernard finally went back into the midfield today and got a couple quick clearances. Can we please leave him there and never have him back again!!

He uses his massive leg from the centre circle to full forward with minimal fuss as a weapon instead of turning the pill over continually down back.

This.

Yes, made up for some boo-boos !

Make sure you have a celebratory gutful on the flight Steve.

I was well lubed (not the type you're thinking of) prior to the bounce but backed off.

These are on Mr Branson so I intend to capitalise as much as possible.

To be fair, they looked like us from last week: cooked. I did say Lewis needed to step up but he got under the radar well and truly. That goal from the boundary was the one that broke them completely.

Pedo brings something to the midfield that Spencil cannot. He gets his own pill, blocks and puts a real presence to the contest. He is the definitive role player and he plays said role very well.

Disgraceful first half, great second half.

Pressure, kicking and movement miles better. Viney was much better.

Oliver and Tracca are our future, teams can be built around them. Both brilliant.

Hibbo and Lewy were great, as were Watts and Peders (welcome back)

JKH and Melksham were terrible. Bugg and ANB not much better. Tyson can be infuriating.

Go in against the Dawks with positivity, but be HUNGRY.

I am no Tyson fan, but I have noticed he is better as a middle man. If Tyson can hit the receiver at full speed then he can recapture his better form. Oliver is the key to that, and Viney lifting his game will help as well. Tyson has a sharp football brain, he just isn't the contested ball getter some have believed him to be (because he is easy to catch). As a middle man he can use his football brain to his advantage, and in turn be less rushed to kick. That is something I have noticed.

But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
