We are 2-1 at Etihad stadium, beating two of its tenants plus a game we should have won vs Geelong.

How times have changed.

Geelong.

Surprised. He was cheering for Essendon today.

Picking Oliver over Parish has to be one of the best recruiting decisions we have ever made. Parish looked like a lost boy.

It's that 3yr old girl haircut he has. My wife who doesn't watch football saw him and said "ewww, who is that and what is with that hair cut?"

Sorry but it was a disgraceful game. The 3rd quater was better but essendrug were pathetic. Last quater kicking was appalling by us. However its 4 points so that is positive.

No injuries, no reports. "The Comeback" is on hold. Patracca on 1 leg sublime, other forwards take note of his game. Pedo practically BOG, take a bow.

Bring on The Dawks...

I loved that Bernard finally went back into the midfield today and got a couple quick clearances. Can we please leave him there and never have him back again!!

He uses his massive leg from the centre circle to full forward with minimal fuss as a weapon instead of turning the pill over continually down back.

T Mac had a shocker today with his kicking, I was almost laughing at the end it was that bad. Then he spoils Nevs 'mark of the year' attempt!! Keep it simple Tommy.

Tyson I thought looked better than previous but I'm still concerned by his kicking. Is definitely lacking confidence.

Finally, JKH. What is the go with him over Kent?? Very ordinary player

What did you expect from two teams coming off short breaks and games in the wet.

We kicked 17 goals, I'll take it.

Only saw the final qtr.

Is it worth watching the replay, at least for the 3rd?

They all seemed flat as a tack in the last. No emotion at all.

Well we won. Still savouring the time honoured "winners donuts" ( just two have to watch the scales.

Many happy chatty Dees on the train.

Mind still processing game. Funny only went for about 60mins :unsure:

I really wouldn't get too carried away.

One of those things you can't unsee.

They butchered it more ( if possible) Joe had a day out...with the fairies ( thank god )

As memory clears ill recall some stellar, and some less than efforts.

Go Dees

Phew !!!

Agree with all of the above except I thought JKH actually competed hard against a few taller players. Like that he plays on quick when he gets it, if he had a bit more pace would be a damaging link player.

Needs to be mentioned - vince went into the midfield at half time and it changed the game. He is a true mid and needs to stay there, thought he was horrendous early in the backline.

The first half is tough...but it's nice to see and compare next to how we came out in the second half.

But you could probably skip the first half. It was terrible from both teams.

My dislike for Ess knows no bounds.  So of all games this year this is the one I desperately wanted us to win.

And we did - without 2 of our best players.  A real four quarter effort.

So proud we rose above all the setbacks.

A win that will be a huge confidence boost for the team.

Demons take a bow.

I actually place Essendrug and Punt Rd Ferals on a Par!

Given some of the decisions by the umps today it would not surprise me if they gave Daniher the 3 votes. After all he did kick that wonderful goal at the second attempt.

I thought Watts' post match interview was very good. Dedicated the win to Hogan/Hogan's dad and said Hogan was one of their brothers and that they love him.

I have defended Dom Tyson in the past, but his kicking today made Tom McDonald's kicking look like the second coming of Peter Daicos.

Agreed, but who should do the kick in? Not sure Hibberd is the answer as I seem him as a distributor to the midfield after the kick in.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
