Lever is exactly what Melbourne need. Another easily physically intimidated player who fails to stand up in big games.

I hate Gavin.

We all have a Gavin in our lives, don't we?

The deal mooted on the AFL site would be fine by me - our first rounder this year and next for Lever and a late first round, very early second round pick.  I think that's pretty fair to be honest.

Agreed, if that deal gets done it's Lever for pick 10 and an approx 5-8 spot downgrade. Sign the bloody papers.

I think you'll find, big mouth, that you need to read it again:

"There is hope the deal can be ticked off in the next two or three days, with the Demons sending two first-round picks to the Crows (pick No.10 this year and next year's first-round selection)

The mooted deal would see Adelaide send a late first-round or early second-round pick back to the Demons."

I await your apology.

Haha

Read it again Wiseblood.

You either need to put your glasses on or get some sleep.

You sound tired...

Where are you reading from?

Ummm, you asked Wiseblood to read the AFL site. He did and quoted from it. Now you're quoting the SEN site. I'm guessing the final deal will be something like either of these scenarios but more likely something in the middle.

He's reading from the AFL site so you're not even comparing the same articles.

Everybody relax...

Haha... I am going to bed. Have a good sleep Wiseblood.

SEN and AFL website have differing reports.

Thanks Beetle...

* I will say this though. I think SEN is reporting it correcto mondo and the AFL is not... Cactus report! lol

What do you mean? As Wiseblood was saying we are not giving up Pick 27 in this scenario. The articles quotes:

" The Demons are looking at parting with two first-round draft picks – this year's and next year's – and receive Lever and draft picks back from Adelaide." We get Pick 18/19 assuming Cameron goes to Brisbane.

We basically drop 8 spots in this draft and potentially gain a 2nd rounder for Watts and 27. Its not all bad.

Yeah I understand now. Wiseblood was reading from the AFL site. I am reading from the SEN site that states we lose our Pick 27 aswell.

No big deal... We are both correct. Conflicting reports. I am sure it will be clarified tomorrow.

I think we should do what we always do. Believe the source that has the information we want to hear. Go afl.com!

I keep waiting for confirmation of what's happening with Leaver, but with the Free Agency period not closing until Sunday, maybe we have to wait to next week when it's confirmed Brisvegas actually have pick 19 to trade.

No deal has been done yet with Adelaide to secure Lever, my sources tell me this could go on until next week.

#ETthetradebreaker.

Take it for what it's worth, but Jon Ralph is reporting in the HUN this morning that the Lever deal could be done by Friday afternoon.

It would see us give up this years and next years first round picks for Lever and the pick Adelaide get for Charlie Cameron (which will most likely be #18.)

If we can get that deal over the line then I think we've done very, very well.  We will nab Lever and, if Watts still goes for a second round pick, we will have three of them to play with in the draft.  That's not too shabby if you ask me.

While Jon Ralph has reported it, it won’t be enough for Adelaide.

hey won’t feel like they got anything for Cameron if they on trade his pick straight away.

For them, it’s lever and Cameron for picks 10 and a future first rounder.

No steak knives in that for them.

That’s the risk with getting 2018 1st rounder no one knows what it is, what if we absolutely got smashed with injuries and finished bottom 4, Adelaide would be laughing, so the steak knives are Adelaide hoping we do a Melbourne and royaly screw up next year

Two first rounders IMO is too much. Pic 10 and 27 is enough imo.

Melb should stick to its guns and not bend over for the cows.

FFS he is OOC.

But being melb I have no doubt we will accommodate the cows.

Its not about being Melbourne or weak. It's about getting the deal done and being able to move onto other deals, rather than getting bogged down and missing out on those deals.

Who are the 'cows'?

We're still getting a further pick back inside the top 20 with the deal that Jon Ralph and the AFL site mentioned, so to me it isn't all that bad.

That pic we r getting bac is for this yr. I don’t c why we need to give them 2 first rounders. We should keep our first rounder for next season.

Speak English.

And while you might not want it to happen, we are going to give up those 2 first rounders for Lever and Pick 18.  It's as simple as that.

Next year will never arrive for many MFC supporters - they dont have the patience. Strategy was always to bring forward a pick into this years equation.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
