I did predict this and wonder if as I predicted, we could become involved in the dea,l to help get the Lever deal across the line.

Phil Walsh must be turning in his grave with how this club has become so immature and weak.

I had a lot of respect for Leigh Matthews before I read this:

The Adelaide Crows should settle for nothing less than the number one draft pick in this year’s draft for departing star Jake Lever, says Leigh Matthews.

“He’s a proven player at 21,” Matthews told 3AW.

“If pick 1 this year ends up being like Jake Lever, you’d be pretty happy.

“I can’t work it out… The draft is a raffle.”

Very interesting indeed

The media are paid to speculate - and to create controversy and click bait.  At the end of the day, our FD isn’t sitting there saying “wow!  We got that so wrong!  Because Weaful Wee said he is worth a first rounder, we need to change our thinking”.  Ignore the idiots, ignore the chaff.

How are we supposed to get pick #1? It's just daft. Leigh is clearly past it.

If Adelaide spend as much time analyzing why they lost the GF as to why some players are leaving they will be a far better place next year......

After reading the big footy for narrow minded imbeciles board about Lever, Adelaide have become my new most hated club in the League.

What a disgraceful way to treat an ex-player who has every right to leave after fulfilling his contract.

What have they got in store for Charlie Cameron?

Probably won't agree to a trade.

Also most hated for me now.

The best I’ve read from Adelaide supporters is that BT is family friends with the Levers and he talked up Jake all year to boost his value, he’s apparently not as good as what we all think. It’s all becoming quite comedic.

Cameron is going (to the B&F) apparently, despite being contracted and wanting to leave, all is well there...?

pick 10 and 27 and no more.  We can cover Lever with Frosty if the worst happens. However l hope its a done  deal by then.

If the players we had stood up when needed, we wouldn’t have to spend so much on one player to fill a gap.

Yup.

And if anyone at the club is whining about Lever being paid so much it tells me our culture problems are money related - players care more about their salaries than the club, and are more concerned about what other players are making than earning their own paypacket and working their asses off.

Will be very interesting to see if Adelaide will take a 1st and 2nd Round pick from the same draft - for Lever.

I can 100% tell you that jakes offer does not make him the highest paid player at the club. Jesse hogan is our highest paid player, Nathan jones not far behind both ahead of our offer for lever.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
