No. Leave the game alone.

Every freaking year the norbits that run the show want to tweak it, and they always get it wrong. Always.

Leave it alone. It ain't broke, don't try and fix it.

Accountants... it’s the money men who tweak it. How do we squeeze every brass razoo out of everything we touch.

It doesn’t work for the NRL, it won’t work for us. If we win a grand final, I’d be up all night partying. If it was on at night, I wouldn’t go to bed until late afternoon the next day.

Love how after consulting fans, we get told due to their opinions the GF won’t change in 2017, then in 2018 without any consultation we get told fans opinions are changing.

Nice on Dill.

The year of the fan was last year, this year they don't give a stuff. I'm sure the price of pies and chips will return to normal as well

Don't care what time we win the Granny........

Gives you more travel time to get over and watch it?

Why do you say that? I'm not a follower of the NRL, but I thought the NRL twilight GF was considered a success...and one of the prime arguments used by those proposing a twilight AFL GF.

I find it somewhat ironic and also sad that the least popular timeslot for AFL throughout the year is being proposed for its most important game.

They've agreed to it it will be announced just prior to round 1 or on the Friday following the Blues/Tigers so it will get lost in the news cycle

Well, Dr Gonzo, you said this almost 12 months ago. Prescient.

Like the idea of a late arvo kick off.  Im getting too old to start drinking at 11am.

A  BBQ and crack the first can at 2pm works for me.  or if im out, the game finishes at 7pm so prefect for kicking on

Im with you DUbDee. I am a traditionalist but that is the best reason I’ve heard so far to justify a twilight GF.

Very much like the ides of a 5pm start - finished by 8pm and one week to celebrate when we win.

This reminds me of a story some one told a few years back. The guy and a few of his mates were going to GF so they thought they would start the day, with a few beers before the they got to the match. The only problem was the cops nabbed them at the gate and they spent the whole GF in the M.C.G cells for the whole match, they let them out at the end of the match.

This injury has taken him 6 Months to recover from and he is still not right .

Id be shocked if he played round one.

New Zealand complains that it’s on too late. Also, it’s hard to let the kids stay up that late. They reverted back in 2008, but became night again for some reason in 2015.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
