This jumper is fantastic. With no numbers, next time Hogan bofs someone we can just blame it on Stretch.

Maybe running out on ANZAC Eve with a new sponsor on our backs infront of 70k and more on tv, is the perfect (and valuable) media exposure our new sponsor is waiting for. Surely would get some noise and attention.

Just a thought...

As mentioned, that would take away from the significance of the jumper.

No chance.

No not at all. I find it sad that as a member of the number 1 sport in the country we cannot sell sponsorship. Companies should be bidding for space considering the exposure AFL gets year round now

Unfortunately that's the price of having low membership numbers and minimal FTA/prime time exposure

Having one of our rare prime time games shunted to 7mate doesn't help

It really has nothing to do with who is playing. It's a Richmond home game and they have huge membership numbers.

Ch7 would have made the decision based on a national viewing audience not just the Victorian. NSW and QLD will be watching that cooking crap not the footy. 3million plus viewers nationally as opposed to 1/2 - 1 million viewers in Victoria would be pretty simple for Ch7

Because of this thread I looked for the Port (back of jumper sponsor) on the TV last night.... I still remember Scott's transport.

Anyway despite hard looking on my rather large TV ...and having my glasses on... it probably took me about 15-20 mins until the TV showed a back shot where the sponsor's name was readable and even then I had to extrapolate (guess) the words because they were not clear. As it was Renault one could tell from the stylised R.

Front sponsors were much easier to identify due to close up shots of player fronts.

Just an observation.

I have a fair idea how TV works

i just wonder whether both clubs were aware of this from early on.

Not everyone will tune in to 7mate, they will turn on Ch7 and see no footy and give up. Regardless of advertising the situation

this is exactly why the AFL will have their own TV Channels in time

As Gonzo has said

secondary Channels get less ratings

that is a Fact.

Where's your answer

Old. It varies

So you make a bullshlt statement.

Then evade defining or substantiating it.

Well done.

As is normal Ch7 will advise the footy is over on 7 mate.

Its a non issue.

Those that watch Footy, will watch footy. Those that don't...wont.

You explain it to my Dad then

i will say it one more time

Secondary Channels get about 2/3 of the primary rating

That's a big drop off for a non issue

it aint a bullsh!t statement

MKR is a crap show, the footy will rate well. I'm sure of it. Frankly I'd watch us in black and white.

Love the sentiment, and the jumper as well; but the details to the game plan are important too. If anyone is going to get rubbed out for Hoges, then it should be Col Garland.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
