CP not up for trade. BS on that one.

My word is that the odds have significantly shortened in the last few hours. In our favour. Jordan has one foot out the door. Hawks working hard to undo  a likely exit.

Fingers crossed.

Any idea what gets the deal done GNF?

will the Hawks budge if he requests a trade officially?

So Hawks need points or picks or both to beat TWSNBN to O'meara

Who knows, they have just done a deal with the saints which I think was all about pick swapping.

Crucial:

Hawthorn receive picks 10 & 68 from the Saints, in exchange for picks 23, 36 and a 2017 1st Round Draft Pick

That's... an interesting trade. Obviously their 2017 first rounder wasn't enough to satisfy Gold Coast for O'Meara.

Not sure who really wins that trade though. Guess the Saints are backing Hawks to drop out of the 8.

Lewis is livid that the core group of premiership players took significant pay cuts to stay together and Vickery and most likely O'Meara are strolling in on a base salary of 500k p.a.

That's enough to make any loyal servant see red. Gone in my opinion.

Pick wise it's a big win for the Saints, they give up 10 & 68, and get back (probably about) 14, 23 and 36.

what does this mean? apart from helping them get o'meara, does that mean lewis is more likely to leave? or not related?..

It definitely means they're more likely to get O'Meara and IMO that increases the chances of Lewis leaving.

Hawks without S.Mitchell and probably Lewis.  No Roughead back.  Hodge, Burgoyne and Gibson another year older.  They miss the eight for me.

Mitchell, Vickery and O'Meara in too... Hard to gauge, but wouldn't think they'd miss the 8 after finishing 3rd

Huge risk from the Hawks if they get a couple of injuries and drop off Freo style and misss out on say a pick 5-6

They finished 5th and the curve was down - from R20 they went 2-4 with a 1pt miracle over Collingwood.  The tide has gone out at Hawthorn - Clarkson, Mitchell, Lewis and I know it.  You' just haven't got there yet.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
