I'll just leave this here. Personally, I don't think there should be any further comment given the seriousness of the matter.

Yes. I don’t think anything more needs to be, or should be said at this stage, regarding Thompson anyway.

Wow hasn't bomber lost his way. Now charged with a range of things. Should have stayed at geelong instead of trusting turd

Without doubt one of the all time worst decisions. He probably would have won another the next year as scott did, and retired a multi premiership super coach AND  premiership player. Obviously his stance on drugs has been questionable personally and proffessionally. There just HAS to be question marks over the cats flags now surely. Man the bombers really just keep digging their  hole deeper and deeper. Feels good to be able to watch another teams train wreck instead of ours for a change.

Something about sowing ..and reaping maybe ?

I am of the opinion Geelong were the lucky ones to get away with whatever. Essendon and Geelong, two sides of the same coin with one side laying on a dog turd.

Geelong under Bomber Thompson need to be investigated thoroughly.

They came back after the preseason in 2007 looking abnormally huge.  Same as the Bombers in 2013.

To be sure, to be sure. I always thought he bought "the package" to Essendope from Geebung.

no doubt about it. But, given how well the last one went,  the AFL are about as likely to open an investigation into that as fly to the moon! Maybe we can bring back Brock Mclean and he can say...that "everyone knew the cats were on drugs. We used to buy them off the geelong players after the game" Would it be wrong of me to hope for a situation like that?  lol.

Feel sorry for the Saints. Assemble their greatest team in history and then hear allegations that the team that defeated you were all jacked up on drugs a decade later, assuming they themselves weren't too.

Yes they sure did.?

I Pity his family, as the law states innocent till proven guilty!

Just really sad and as I said feel for his family!

Hopeful of a positive lining to a darkening thread!

Footy deserves it! And FAMILY

Just sayin

However I just keep one thing in mind,

Some people have money, LOTS through skill, Hard work and an ounce of luck! and are savvy in business dealings.

Bomber Thompson has had every accolade bestowed,

Premiership Captain, Premiership Coach,

Just really sad and as I said feel for his family!

Hopeful of a positive lining to a darkening thread!

I think the families of those disrupted by ice addiction and ecstasy laced with lethal additives deserve our thoughts. A family affected by having a member in prison due to greed and being involved in a violent profession if convicted, is not in the same ball park.

This video of him 'jokingly' talking about buying into an ice business, on on the couch above, has been doing the rounds.

Bloody hell.  Anyone have an explanation for that apart from the obvious?

Someone would have to admit something.

Can’t remember the bomber player (maybe Kyle remier??) who admitted they were putting experimental stuff in their body right at the start but the PR from Essendon was savage.

Too many reputations would shatter if it came out. Only way it is revealed is in twenty years for some lower lights to admit what was really going on, like open mike etc etc

Hehe. Love this. No stress. Essendon will pay the fine like last time.

Fine ?

Bomber's charged with Trafficking...not possesion.

He could go away for a holiday ;)

IMO it's petty to be associating Geelong's success or Essendon's 'issues' with the trouble Thompson finds himself in.

I learnt some time ago about Bomber and his tenants from a mate of mine who was a bikie in a former life.. It sounded like he (Thompson) was quite open in his dealings, and I'd be very surprised if many of his mates didn't know he dabbled.

I was going to post four months back about what I'd heard from 'Bill' - a very reliable source, but could see no point. Bill was adamant Thompson would be charged.

Bill was right.

It's actually impossible in many respects TO separate Thompson from many and nefarious goings on at Essendon and Geelong.

None of this happened in isolation.

What goes around comes around.

Life's a bltch sometimes.

Nothing to worry about. Just tell the judge it was the "good" ecstasy. And show them a photocopy of a picture of a label of a Nurofen bottle.

All good.

Just goes to show how much of a rabble Essendon were under Hird and Thompson. Two drug addicts at the helm, implementing a drug program with help of a shady scientist. Anyone who was at that club and didn't stop it, has absolutely no business in setting standards for AFL level players. Its just disgraceful what people will justify and put up with. I knew something was up with Bomber Thompson in 2010 when he basically pushed Ablett jr up the GC. People just automatically assumed Ablett was going for the coin, but Bombers behaviour at the time (in alienating Ablett) didn't help, and it was unprofessional. It was around that time that I speculated to my family that I think Bomber has a drug problem. So I suspect he is long gone.

This has nothing to do with Geelong under bomber, I hate Geelong but I don't judge other people or teams on  Association, a long bow to draw.

If he's found guilty, a fine will be the least of his problems.  We're talking about a large, trafficable amount of gear here.

From The Age:

"..as Melbourne Magistrates Court heard details of the seven charges laid against him which included the alleged trafficking of ecstasy and ice, each of which carry maximum jail terms of up to 15 years...."

7 x 15 = 105 years. I don't reckon he'll get that. On the upside, my mate learnt a trade during his time in the Big House. He's a tiler now (formerly an arsonist).

Most likely concurrent if found guilty. 15 years if thats the prize,7-1/2 on behaving oneself.

If any of this was to teanspire that's one mighty fall from Babalon.

He'd have some prior acquaintances to pass time with possibly ?

Fascinating to see how this pans out.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
