My better side would be hoping that not only football identities pay the price of indiscretions that slug you in the mouth, in life, from time to time. Bigger fish have been hanging around Footy Clubs that i know of since the sixties. They need to go down as well. They cost and flavoured a lot of good people.

Most likely about his multi million dollar investment or personal drug use.

I really hate the way the media associate this with the whole Essendon saga.

You could well be right Js5.  The Age article http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/mark-bomber-thompsons-port-melbourne-house-raided-20180108-h0f5th.html says the raids were conducted by the Geelong and Southern Metro Divisional Response Units.

Re the multimillion dollar deal,  The HS article in the 'biggestred' post says 'Last March Thompson pocketed $7 million after selling his stake in a farming property at Armstrong Creek' which is near Geelong.

The Age article goes on to say 'Divisional Response Units investigate property crimes and illegal drug activity (including cultivate, manufacture and traffic), according to Victoria Police'.

People can form their own theories but that line is certainly a leading piece of info.

I've only half-read one article, but it seemed to me the house in question may not be one that Bomber lives in. The article seemed to very carefully refer to the place as being owned but not necessarily lived in by Thompson, yet written in a way that might allow someone to infer that Bomber is the target without actually saying that was the case.  If that's right, the raid may have nothing to do with him but rather with the tenant.

The thing I find interesting is that I haven’t seen this thread for many months but now that I have I find my dislike for Essendon is as strong as ever.

It does stick in the back of the mind...taking the reckless advantage option too far for most peoples' liking. Good indicators have been the movement of previous Essendon players to other clubs.

Reported that the raid was in connection to a recent drug bust in Geelong where three people were arrested.

Property Crimes in Policing parlance is the crime linked to drug activities such as break and enters, stolen property etc.  Any dodgy land dealings would normally be handled by the Fraud Squad.

My bet would be a lot ADC.....

Their transformation during 2007 was almost overnight.

The demolition of Richmond that year was something i will never forget.

But if stimulants were involved, we will never know now...it’s too long ago

Lucky Bomber didn’t go to the Gold Coast as coach. He might have become bigger than Travers ‘Candyman’ Benyon. K Hunt might have also felt resentful as someone  else was muscling in on his patch.

And what about the property deal where he and Dodoro pocketed 15 mil between them off land that their mate Justin Madden rezoned?

How convenient.

Sniff, sniff ... another Essendon something or other? Sniff, does it stink? Thompson, Salmon, Madden, monetary profiteering, what else?

Balls. They would have beaten Sydney in the 2005 SF but for the Nick Davis show.  Maybe they were dodgy in 2007+,  maybe not, but to say it was an overnight thing is to rewrite history.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
