So Dank didn't turn up to his own appeal, who would have guessed? What a total FWit. No more sports nights or media coverage, ignore him.

Dank's has to go into the history books as the greatest coward in Aussie sport. He not only failed to get himself off but, despite his bluster, never lifted a finger to deliver on his oft repeated promise to help players get off. Weak.

By not showing up Dank can continue to give his little talks with added zest.  Now he can point out how his case  was unfairly dismissed just because the doctor who looked after his dying great-great-grandmother was run over by a WADA van before he could write him an excuse note for not showing up last week. Or some such.

Yes i tend to agree, by not accepting his final verdict the flame of his story still burns, weakly but it is still a flame in his little mind

But i also agree with the above that somebody just might take matters into their own hands and take him out

He does talk too much...

On SEN drive home show, Jon Ralph, along with Mark "Mr Perception" Allen and Adam Cooney (enuf said), were tearing strips off Dank.

Worst criminal in Oz sport history, etc etc. Even to the point of wishing financial ruin on him. (A tad harsh!)

I wanted to ring in ... "so tell me, this Dank must have done something terrible. Something really awful to be the worst villain in Oz sport history. Tell me, what specifically did he do?"

I expect they would have backtracked at a million miles an hour. "Oh, we don't really know" ... "He robbed these young men of the prime of their careers, the cad, etc" .... all while avoiding the obvious "he was the technical expert in Oz's greatest doping scandal and injected all those players with multiple PEDs."

If Dank is the biggest villain, how did he get that way? Did EFC walk into the rooms one day to find this stranger injecting their players against their wills? Or did someone else ... potentially an even greater villain in sports history ... invite him in and direct him to these deeds?

The wilfull blindness makes me shake my head. Is this our great game?

Spot on Ted! It beggars belief that at least a couple of others weren't fully cognizant and supportive of what Dank was up to.

Boots 'n' all: there's no hiding Dyson Heppell's delight at being back in the Bombers locker room.

An interesting picture from this article: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/dyson-heppell-renovated-rejuvenated-and-ready-to-captain-essendon-20161124-gsx1vl.html

On the captaincy:  "I feel I'm ready," he says."

Call me cynical but it cannot be a coincidence that Heppell is standing in front of Jobe's locker - a message for Jobe - time to move on pal...!!   Sure the photographer set it up but Heppell would have known exactly where he was and the significance of it.

Combined with Worsfold's commetns about Jobe doubting his passion, it looks like Jobe is being eased out, none too subtly either.

No wonder Jobe is disillusioned.  That club would have imploded without him.  Deserves to keep the captaincy.

I think you're letting your cynicism roam on a long leash. It's been widely discussed that Jobe, if he were to play another season, would relinquish the captaincy in favour of Heppell. Really, there's nothing to see here.

Really?  Care to reference?

I've seen articles about Heppell taking over when Jobe hangs up his boots but not next year...could have missed them.

Jab deserves to keep nothing. He was the Captain through the whole disgrace and along with Hird would have known exactly what was going on.

That said Heppell doesn't deserve that smug smile either, but the AFL think differently.

We have two of the crew now in our team. Are you happy for them to smile SWYL?

No i am not, but i have to put up with it

I was not in favour of us taking them. However it is now a long time since 2012 they have all served their penalities.

My view is like when someone goes to jail for a crime, when they have served their sentence they deserve to re enter society and get on with their lives.

The same applies to the EFC 34 IMO.

It is time to put this all behind us as far as the players are concerned.

They are all now legitimate players in a football team and should be treated for as such.

Nobody got the penalty they deserved..All 34 lied to WADA

That should have finished their careers

Would have stopped drug cheats forever.

Maybe. But i will not have any sympathy for any of them.

Cheated the system and now welcomed back

it's wrong.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
