If we are interpreting his case correctly... it is genuinely laughable. He's claiming a grand conspiracy between the club and medicos against him to keep him under a certain amount of games..?

I have been a defender of his, even in his time at Collingwood, but this is making a mockery of player welfare.

A sad end to a career.

What a sad outcome. There was a 'something fish'y odor about this from the start. How ironic we swapped him for Clark. I recall that it flashed through my tiny mind when Dawes was in the Casey trenches in his Demon tracksuit encouraging and coaching the Casey players as they interchanged in the Box Hill game late in the year. I wondered why Lumumba wasn't there as well.

Shows Dawes’ quality more than Lumumba’s lack of it if you ask me.

Dawes was always full of quality and had plenty of character and team spirit, his body just let him down.

I'm actually very happy to be rid of him

Wow, just wow. I have defended this guy many times, but no more. We have been extremely sensitive to his well being with his concussions, not to mention his other....traits, and he decides he's going to sue us because he knows he's not in our best 22 next year and will fail to gain his trigger clause.

For someone that has claimed honour, integrity, and moral high ground in the past this guy really has some nerve. Fight this [censored] Melbourne, Gus and Viney would be happy to stand up and tell the world about our cautious concussion management.

If it was MFC games that triggered the fourth year, the club could just as easily have played him at Casey rather than conspire w doctors to leave him on the sidelines. The whole claim is totally bizarre.

I've given him the benefit of the doubt at various times, but if there's an ounce truth to this then there can be no more defending him and I'll be pretty happy to see the back of him.

Just so i get this right Harry, the MFC had it not been cautious and took upteenth lengths and sought top medical advice and applied best practice and let you play before ready .... you'd probably sue for dereliction of duty of care.

The club did everything in your interest and you want to take action ????

There are words to describe you, honorable, appreciative, informed.... arent amongst them.

No wonder you dont dare show your face. You do need medical assistance, more than you understand !!

Amazing too that in an age where a lax approach to concussion both here and overseas has come under increasing scrutiny, H decides to take action against a club being extra cautious in the interests of his long term health.

Yes i will admit i was wrong about H as he hasn't been able to stick it out for one reason or another. Possibly getting crap advice now which makes for a bad taste.

Our pen friends like any chance to stick the knives in, the devil loves them. Suing the Club isn't the way to go and maybe this isn't true yet especially of someone who

promised to help all the younger players.

What a peanut.

Let's wait for all the lefties to come out and defend him and turn it into a racial debate.

Fair chance this post will be deleted.

Anyone with half an ounce of logic in them would see this guy is a total fIog, nothing racial just an idiot no matter what race/religion he is.  The club just needs to stick to the facts and the truth shine through.

The club will have learned a harsh lesson from both him and Clark, much as part of me still has a little chip on my shoulder with Mitch at least he had the decency to acknowledge we did all we could for him. H seems to be throwing our cautious approach to his long term health back in our faces.

Seriously, what? I'm a "lefty" and I think the bloke's a peanut.

I don't see anyone in this thread even remotely suggesting this is a racial debate.

And yes, your post probably should be deleted, if only to prevent an epidemic of migraines from violent facepalms!

Hate to say it but it is a complete replica of Mitch Clarke:  Injured, takes time out, depression (from Roos' comment that H was in a 'better head space'), take a break from the club, 'can't' come back so wants a payout.

The difference being is that I really hoped Clarke would come good and I was a little hurt at the bs he sold us

With Harry... well... yelling 'Just pack your @#$%ing bags and get the @#$% out of my club' at that Essendon game this last season might tell you what I think

Bloody over rated footballer and a vastly over rated self important person

Shannon Noll just called, he's a little upset that the Prince stole his song...

On a serious note, wish I could be paid well, be 'fit to work' but allowed paid time off, and then quit and ask for another years salary.

Hope when the door hits his ass on the way out, it doesn't try and sue the house

Seriously ?

What has this got to do with left or right or race ?

Poor behavior crosses all spectrums and from my reading he is behaving poorly.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
