Just heard that former Demon 'Tangles' Walker has sadly passed away.

Is this confirmed?

Reported this morning that Max Walker passed away this morning

Don't know any details but he represented the MFC as a ruckman

I remember 'Tangles' as a good Demon footballer, an excellent Aussie cricketer and a fun-loving speaker and author.  Crammed a lot into a relatively short life, and gave a lot of sports lovers a lot of enjoyment along the way.  I'm saddened to hear of his passing.  RIP Maxy.

Very sad. He's a family friend and you honestly could not meet a more welcoming and positive bloke.

Very sad news.

Met Max a few times and he was a fantastic guy and always ready to have a laugh.

Sent me a copy of one of his books, which I didn't have and refused payment.

RIP. Max, a lovely guy and will be sorely missed by family and friends.

Top bloke and an amazing sportsman. Architect, author, raconteur. A real character who will be sadly missed. A life well lived.

Loved reading his books as a kid and obviously the classic 12th man stuff. He always seemed like a really relaxed down to earth man who didn't take life to seriously. Melanoma again... Very sad.

I knew Max for fifty years and first met him when we started architecture together at RMIT. He was a great guy in all respects of his life. Let's hope that Daniel Andrews honours him with a State Funeral in the same way that Jeff Kennet honoured Teddy Whitten!
