Got any examples to back that up..?

The 9 times out of 10 he had a chance to crash a pack and spoil and meekly raised an arm?

He's got endurance and reads the play well. Can mark and can kick more reliably than his brother but still lacks penetration and touch. But he won't make it if he doesn't learn how to be physical.

He's nothing special and doesn't justify our decision in overpaying for Frost, which was the point of my original comment.

The Hawks are dominating the NAB Trade Radio airwaves today -

• Hawthorn champion Sam Mitchell is officially a West Coast player after being traded to the club today, for effectively pick 88.

• The Hawks did get a win though with Sydney midfielder Tom Mitchell today officailly joining the club via a trade with the Swans.

• Hawthorn midfielder Jordan Lewis is no cetainty to be at the Hawks next season after the drama of yesterday. Lewis is livid with the Hawks after they asked if he wanted to be traded, and is believed to be still exploring his options with the Demons.

• The Western Bulldogs are confident impressive first-year defender Marcus Adams will play out his contract despite exploring a possible move home to Western Australia.

• Hawthorn appears closer than ever to securing Gold Coast midfielder Jaeger O'Meara after a trade with the Saints saw them gain pick 10 - a pick which will almost certainly be used in the O'Meara trade.

DONE DEALS SO FAR:

Tyrone Vickery moves from Richmond to Hawthorn as a restricted free agent
Daniel Wells moves from North Melbourne to Collingwood as an unrestricted free agent
Cam McCarthy, pick 7, 34 and 72 move from GWS to Fremantle in exchange for pick 3.
Chris Mayne moves from Fremantle to Collingwood as an unrestricted free agent
Brad Hill traded from Hawthorn to Fremantle in exchange for pick 23
Pick 3 and 16 traded from GWS to Brisbane in exchange for picks 2, 31, 51 and 60.
Jack Steele moves from GWS to St Kilda in exchange for their 2017 future round two pick
Sam Mitchell, pick 54 and 72 traded from Hawthorn to West Coast in exchange for pick 52, 70 and 88.
Tom Mitchell and pick 57 traded from Sydney to Hawthorn in exchange for pick 14 and 52
Pick 10 and 68 traded from St Kilda to Hawthorn in exchange for Hawthorn's 2017 future first pick, and this year's picks 23 and 36

Apparently Goldstein on the move due to a couple of stray taps allegedly....

Allegedly ruckman tapping what he shouldn't be as above.

Repeated the joke as I don't get good ones very often.

Interestingly one of the teams i've heard is keen is the Bombers so perhaps there is more to play out there regarding Hibberd.

That is interesting. Vanders for Hibberd. Things would be looking good if we could keep both 2nd rounders (2016 and 2017) in play and grab Lewis for a 3rd or 4th rounder (Hawthorn can't expect more than that given they dished off their BnF for pick 88).

I suspect we'd need to upgrade later picks or something as well but word is they want a big bodied inside mid which is why they chased and ultimately missed out on Koby Stevens

What's the rationale there? Do they feel they need a bigger bodied player ready to kick goals and crash packs within their young impotent forward line?

You mustn't watch very closely. A heap of contests each week where he doesn't spoil with his body. Panics under pressure as well.

Might be part of the Lewis deal, not Hibberd.

You do realise you are talking about a 20 year old who has played 17 games and is at least 5-8kgs short of the playing weight they want him at, you are a very hard taskmaster, read what Nathan Jones said about him on the MFC site, you do respect his opinion of a player?

And Frost, Jonesy is quite a fan of him as well

I'm sure you'll figure it out, but you're leaving a lot  to be desired when it comes to understanding football so I don't know..

While we are all looking at the Hawks it seems that Goldstein may be on the move:  "A source close to the Kangaroos told WAtoday Goldstein wants out of the Roos because of a personal issue and was seriously considering moving west". http://www.theage.com.au/afl/west-coast-eagles/afl-trade-week-shock-is-roos-ruckman-todd-goldstein-heading-to-west-coast-20161014-gs2gd7.html

Hawks and North have both blindsided their players.

Moral of the story: No surprises-  a club can be ruthless but treat your veterans with respect or else other players will be looking for the exit!

I have it on two relatively good sources that it's not Goldstein being blindsided by North, but a bit of friction within the North playing group. I'll leave it at that. Massive news though. I wonder if they weren't on the way down whether Goldstein would be seeking a trade or whether North would even let him entertain it.

I meant that North (and Hawks) blindsided their legends ala Harvey (Lewis) so other players may be disillusioned ala Wells and perhaps Goldstein.

Ummm...you can pm me re the bit about friction in the playing group if you like...please

Can't even imagine any friction within that club? Unless Ziebell has been drinking his own bath water, believing the commentary hype, and thinks he's the second coming. They really don't have much of a core group coming through to warrant a playing group friction?

You're suggesting that 90% of the times he could have influenced the contest, he chickened out (squibbed).

There's been a lot of criticisms of O'Mac, haven't heard that he is a coward. If true, it's amazing that the match committee, his teammates, the opposition, the media, Melbourne supporters, and even opposition supporters haven't noticed it either... truly amazing.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
