The way Oliver plays makes you watch him even when 20+ players around the ball. At this early stage the comparisons with Voss might be a bit steep but he does possess early glimpses of Voss' brilliance and influence. 

Brayshaw is rising in brilliance and aggression  with every game he plays. He seems to make so few errors (apart from that horrible switch that cost a goal against the Hawks). It is his run and carry, and fierce tackling that place high above many others on our list. 

Petracca. His vision, ability to give himself space, and brilliant kicking make me drool. I can't  see him ever being a regular 35 possession player, but 20 possessions and 3 goals, 3 goal assists and 8 forward 50 entries might become very regular.

Petracca - power and 'x' factor

Oliver - the creative and aggressive beast in the engine room

Brayshaw - tough and skilled - the best by foot on both sides

How brilliant is that for a young midfield? Viney, Tyson, Oliver, Petracca and Brayshaw. I reckon we'll add to it too. We have to in order to compete with the likes of GWS and the Bulldogs.

Brayshaw, Petracca, Viney, Oliver, Tyson... all already proving themselves as high quality midfielders.

But it is what happens when you put them together that is really deadly.

To be fair McLean was a gun for a couple of years there. Was also a fav of mine haha

Don't forget Scully, Trengove, Gysberts and Tapscott! A whole midfield group all in one draft! Sensational! A versatile group which really complemented Morton, Grimes and Maric.

Dom Tyson reminds me of simon Black.

Brayshaw has a bit of NigeLappin without the booming kick.

Petracca is like Aka but more powerful.

 

IMO Hunt is more like an Aka type player, fast, evasive, good mark and will kick goals. 

Trac is in a different category but I'd say he's more like Voss with his pace and brute strength, plus he can do all of the Voss things and kick the ball a mile.

This felt like a new day at the time. And maybe, if our club had been half functional, and we had one person in the football department who understood player development,  it could have become what potential hinted at. But what it turned into .... !!! A pathetic VFL standard mess.

No t to mention a lack of buy in from the players... wouldn't want to slack off in the gym with Viney watching ?

We are lucky to have all three, but Oliver is the pick of the bunch for me.

He simply does things that other players wouldn't even think of doing.

It's funny but under better tutelage and culture I think that midfield could have been quite good. 

Sculldog has had a bloody good year, we all knew he had it in him which was what hurt. Trenners got unlucky and poorly managed, and Gys and Tappy showed at times good ability but our failure to develop promising youngsters into AFL players was a disgrace back then.
