Do others recommend going without any Melbourne gear on? I only ever take a beanie and scarf at most.

Wear one of Schwaby's blazers and a red and blue tartan cap. Also take a tarp and chuck it over a bunch of empty seats. Then stand on your seat and tell everyone to go [censored] themselves.

I've lived in Adelaide for 3 years and attended  every Demons game there without incident wearing my Dee's Jacket, Beanie and Scarf!

I've had some great fun and sang the song full voice on the way out of the ground  a few years ago when we beat Adelaide under Roo's !!

I enjoy going to the footy at Adelaide Ova, it's a great facility and it's a atmosphere , the notion that the Adelaide/Port supporters are ferals that prey on anyone in an opposition piece of clothing is just ridiculous.

We usually head back to the Lord Mebourne pub on Melbourne street for a few beverages after the game.

You'll be fine to enjoy your game people!

I would venture a guess it's no less intimidating than taking the trip down the highway to Geelong. Very enjoyable experience last year, hope you guys get it at Adelaide Oval!

I would, but the problem is their seats are already covered in tarps.

Not proud of my weekend behaviour but this public shaming is hurtful.

Last year our small supporter group travelled to Adelaide for the Port game and had an as usual great weekend pre match with Robbo met some fantastic d"supporters etc. We were decked out in jackets scarves etc, proud to show our colours

In the last quater with the game in the balance Demons streaming to gaol and a bouncing kick.

I jumped up to follow the fate of the bounce while next to me my mate also jumped up fists pumped to celebrate in his usual restrained fashion.

My eyebrow met his fist and in a haze of blood the goal was scored. I had not had many such injuries but crikey it bled like a geyser. We sought medical attention but the first aid guys were only wiling to offer directions to the Adelaide hospital.

We watched the game slip from our grasp in emergency and I blame myself for that loss. the hospital were fantastic and attended us sympathetically and efficiently.

However the highlight of the abandonment was as we left the ground, head cradled in blood soaked bandages and in obvious discomfort a Port supporter came up offering comfort. His first words were "Hope it wasnt one of our supporters  mate.... "You alright?"

Like all clubs there are a myriad of supporters.

Hope there were no injuries sustained this year.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
