Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?

Zak Jones has one more year to run on his contract after this season. I wonder if the dees would couple up some picks for him to help the Swans with academy bidding and other dealings.

No thanks.

Zac Jones is Dean Terlich reincarnated..

Would be great, ENYAW, if you stopped starting threads that repeat other threads, especially when the original has been done to death.

No, thanks. It's been said before. Pretty much the only reason we'd go after him is sentimentality.

the issue with crouch is the value.

before injury, easily worth a first rounder - possibly plus something else that was fairly decent.

since then, not so much.

still, if you could prise him from adelaide for a single first rounder, would do it. same with prestia.

so say we luck out and could either for the low, low price of 2017 first round pick - which one?

and i don't think either side will agree to just a first round pick at the end of the year for either brad crouch or dion prestia.

I'd go Prestia.

I think we have a great core of youngsters and need to add good players through trade and free agency to help push us into the top 8 next season.

Hibberd, Hurley, Daw, Prestia, O'Meara, Mitch or Nathan Brown, Daniel Merrett.

These are all guys we should be looking at to possibly bring in.

Isn't Merrett 40?

To figure out who we're  chasing might one just consider who we need.

No order.

2nd tall kpf/swing ruck

Kpb- FB

Mids.

It's suggesed we may have  the fwd requirements covered from within.

Definitely need a FB ...a real one

Some outside pace....handy

Another inside animal...handy.

I'd prioritise the FB position, be surprised if club hasn't.

Who we chasing ? Ready to go fullbacks.

It seems we'll go hard for Hibberd. Think we've also cooled on Prestia. 2017 is meant to be an incredible draft class but I think we should be focusing on contending then rather than bringing in more young talent, where we have the youngsters to service us for the next 10+ years. I'm sure like last year there are 3-4 OOC players that we are targeting and. have already reached out to their managers. Getting Hibberd could allow Salem or Hunt to push up to the wing. We defianatley need to add speed to the team this offseason. Crouch has talent but he can't kick. I'd also be looking at Jack Steele, Jarrod Garlett, Andrew Gaff, Brendon Ah Chee, Micheal Hurley

Although I think Frost down back could save us millions on Hurley

We need 3 bigger bloke's and 3 small/ mediums as a decent backlines.

Tom is fine as #2. a near liability as #1, we need a fullback (rtg real one urgently)

3 bigs. TMac Snowman and new FB. Garland is past it....depth at very best

Mediums . Jetta Milkshake & ? ( Maybe Mitch ? )

So there's two possible ?'s to fill.

Haha nah that's Harvey......

He's 31, 32 by the start of next season. O Mac really needs another season to bulk up, which I think after next season he will be 100% ready.

Merrett is a free agent so would cost us nothing and could be our big fullback for a year or two if his form is good enough.

By the way I would only go for him if we can't find another big defender who is younger but we need someone to help protect Omac as he needs time.

Wondering why people think we're cooling on Prestia. I reckon the deal is more likely done and we're moving on to adding more talent.

2 clear needs.

1. A key position defender with size, paceand experience and who is ready to go. Brown from Collingwood fits the bill.

2. Outside pace midfielder, probably to play off half-back. Someone like Shaw from GWS, Rohan from Swans, Johanissen from Bulldogs. Hunt will become this in 2 years but we need pace now.

Did you see big sauce against us this year?

he is well and truly cooked.

i really liked him in his prime but the game has past him by.

It's pretty hard defending in a side getting pumped every week.

Maybe it has though I just thought he may be an option.

I'd say if we can't land Hurley then the Brown's will be our next target.

Merret NO! absolute spud,finished.

May, Tomlinson, Hartigan, HoskinElliot,Harris-Andrews, in that order.

Surprised no one has mentioned Caleb Marchbank with our history of trading with GWS.

Also first rounders in 2017 are said to hold significant value due to the strength of the draft next year so I wouldn't go trading it if we didn't need to

I reckon Merret has merit.

Big defender,ready made,strong and needs a change.Why not.

He's not really the big defender we want, he's more of a 3rd tall.

Wouldn't say no at the right price though, however I think everyone sees we lack a genuine big key defender.

Can we package up some later picks for a top 10 pick again to one of the Academy clubs? Could then use that as currency in a trade for Prestia. Not sure who else is available (other than Hibberd). Tomlinson could be a tall defender/swingman option but he's been playing wing and getting games for GWS recently.

Got dropped this week didn't he? He and Marchbank should be targets, won't cost the world like Hurley.

The issue with Crouch is the fact that he is more in love with the p155 than he is the football...

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.
