And Hill kicks the sealer. I don't normally take too much notice of crowd size but 49,000 at the MCG on a Friday night given both clubs membership numbers would seem low.

We would have beaten the Hawks tonight.  The tigers have been pretty bad and were still in it at 3/4 time.

No doubt when we play them Hodge, Mitchell and Roughy will all be back.

We can only play who they send out against us.  We need to learn to beat the best....and of course the worst too.

What's happened to Brandon Ellis???

Might answer my own question....I thought he would be a much better player at this stage of his career but he's stalled or gone backwards.

When he was running hot a couple of years back Roos played Crossy on him and he had no effect against us.

Having a closer look tonight, he doesn't like to take the tackle or make body contact. Way to quick to move the ball on if he gets it and often to the disadvantage of a team mate.

He's an important cog in the Richmond team as he's one of the few that can use the ball well given space. The challenge for him now is to adapt to the pressure that he's now under.

Tigers would do well to trade Vickery. At his most valuable atm. Soft show pony. In 2 years they'll rue still having him on their list.

I don't usually like opposition players, but I love watching Patty Cripps play. Already won three of the four centre clearances of the match.

Well he's no good down the other end either. So glad he's not our concern anymore.

And after all his whinging about that meanie Paul Roos for playing him in defence last year, when all he wanted to do was lazily hang in the forward line waiting for the midfield to do all the work for him. After all, didn't Bucks promise Howe that his defending days were over at the Pies?

Dear oh dear, we have sold them a lemon! :roos:

Not the first time Roos has managed that. Colin Sylvia says hi.

Just goes to show how selfish he is.  Players should put their hand up and be willing to play anywhere on the ground to help the club and their teammates.  He couldn't even do that without having a sook.  Good riddance to him.

Good spot before too. Carlton have slowed/tired in the last five minutes (despite that Levi goal).

Geez, Collingwood are in serious trouble if Levi Casboult is kicking goals.

He took about three or four contested marks in the last three minutes of the quarter. Dominating in the air and has had a couple of marks pretty much in the goal square.

Flicked it over to the Geelong/Eagles game and Dwayne's bias is painful. Switching channels as soon as the Carl/Coll game returns.

Any commentary team with Der-Wayne in it is the worst team possible.  The bloke turns even the most mundane into an opportunity to say "this is off the chain!"

Great player that he is, I am nearly at the stage where I can't watch Joel Selwood play. The constant staging, ducking his head, soft frees and arguing with the umpire is really annoying. Also he seems to get away with constantly instigating incidents and then gets free kicks, or the other player reported. Today, in the first half,  I have seen him twice rough up a player, who had received a free kick or mark and yet there is no 50 against him. He is a totally protected species and is being umpired completely differently to other players.

I am disappointed to say this, but he is becoming my least liked player in the AFL.

I also wonder if Paddy D is embarrassed, about that late bump from Redden, which caught him lightly in the side and after he made sure he got the downfield free, he got up and pretended to rub his jaw, which brought mirth from the commentators.

Clearly some clubs players, like the Roos for example, often stage for frees and disappointingly, get a reward for it.

I must've subconsciously drifted towards the Carl/Coll game because of that. Because I have more SC players in the WC/Geel game. But I am watching the Carl/Coll game.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
