Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

CASEY SCORPIONS v NORTHERN BLUES

Recommended Posts

Read this post carefully. Weiderman has collided with McGuiness in our forward line. McGuiness has a suspected broken arm. The Weid is fine. Blues got a free kick, stuffed it and fended off Weiderman high. Weid got a free, kicked it inside to Morris and Morris kicked a goal to take us to a 7 goal lead.

Quick break for the Blues and sounded like a goal, however, our defensive man, S. Frost big tackle to save the goal.

And then screws up his kick across half back, straight to the opposition. At least he will fit in perfectly.

Frost was originally recruited as a back man if my memory serves me correctly so he would certainly strengthen our back line with TMac.

He needs to play in our backline and not forward.

We are giving the Blues all the opportunities to kick a goal. We are turning over the ball a lot in our favourite half back line. But the Blues are terrible and we are defending well - just not doing well out of defence.

They still haven't scored a goal though.

Nice pack mark by Weed. Juggled it twice before final grab. I said a few weeks ago he looks like his body is not yet big enough but he continues to prove me wrong. Nice direct kick for goal.

And a second goal a minute later from set shot 40-50m out. Did not deviate at all.

The Weed is growing  strong!

Half time catering report. The back story is it was my beautiful daughter's 21st last night. She and I organised it all together so I kept myself tidy but was able to loosen the reins a little towards the end ......and afterwards.

That said, the egg and bacon roll was looked forward to as both nutrition and morning / afternoon after therapy. It did NOT disappoint one bit. Boy was it good - the best one I have ever had. Well done Casey kitchen!

That qtr was a lot more scrambly than the first. Had to take a phone call (and eat aforementioned roll) so I missed a good chunk of the play details. We had the same contributors as 1st qtr but just not as dominant. The ground is getting more sloppy and ball is being held up in more ground contests.

Frosty was showing his usual schizophrenic passages. Great at a contest and tackle one minute, then poor kick leading to turnover and shot at goal by Blues. He's not yet earning a call up back to the firsts on this form.

Weed, as already mentioned, had a very very good qtr.

Having never seen the Weed myself, who does he best compare to in the way he plays? Gunston? (Would be over the moon if he got to that sort of level)

Taller I think. I'm hoping a shorter Lobb. Maybe a Scotty Lucas type (not the left foot part, the rangy CHF long kick part). That is of course wishful thinking. I've been hoping for a Scotty Lucas since... well... Scotty Lucas.

I'm glad he's happy with it. As a matter of interest, was it a contested mark?

A contested mark is the only sort of mark you should be content with :P

Yeah. Long telescopic arms. I wonder what Weed's height is compared to him? Lovely pretty kicking action too, though his kicking was a slight knock from memory out of his draft.

Big raps on ANB and Weiderman at half time. More so than Newton and Dawes who they have discussed are important. ANB a little busier in that term that Newton.

HT Stats.
Disposals - Newton 18, Dunn 14, Neal-Bullen 14
Goals - Weideman 3, Briggs 2, Grimes, Morris, Newton, King.

QT Stats
Disposals - Newton 13, Dunn 8, Neal-Bullen 7.
Goals - Briggs 2, Grimes, King, Weideman 1

As others have said i think Lynch is a good comparison, he's quite mobile, got a bloody good set of hands and a beautiful kick, once he develops an AFL body he'll be very good in tandem with Jesse.

he seems to be past his injuries which is a huge plus and still very much building confidence and form but he's good enough to be the best player that comes out of his draft.

These egg and bacon rolls, I have heard so much about them, do they deliver up to Daintree? Long way to come for E/B roll, but I will make it one of these days soon hopefully.

Might get a bit cold before arrival. Their secret is no limits on the lashings of bacon.

Trenners kicks the first of the 3rd. Dunn doing everything down back. Blues have opened their forward line, and as we'd expect - Dunn is loving the space.

Another Blues player goes down and the stretcher is out. It was a sling tackle and hitting the head, so not sure who tackled, but sure it will be looked at.

considering how good the young crop from last years draft have been id be ecstatic if he ended up being in the top 5 of the group

Very exciting to hear the Lynch comparisons. If he ends up developing into a 50 goal a season forward im sure we will all be over the moon

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
