Jack Viney's square off on Rance

We're going to hear a bit about it over the next few days. Some will love it, some will loathe it. He might get weeks for it.

But no more are we the whipping boys of the competition. There was no hesitation, Jack Viney went in for his mate, something few of our players have been willing to do for the better part of 10 years.

My only comment to Viney would be to drive his hands through his chest and send him flying. If the decision is reversed I can live with that but we don't want to him suspended

I think he's gone for a week, and I am so damn proud of him for doing it.  It was an instant reaction to stand up for a teammate.  Great leadership.

Open hand to the neck, shouldn't get a week for that. If he does, Rance is getting 6 weeks.

Vince might get another week though.

99.99% of people will love it

Richmond sycophants Jon Ralph and Hamish McLachlan will hate it

Rance hit the deck faster than Sonny Liston

AFLs golden boy Rance will get two down to one so they will have to give Viney a fine at the most.

A hit to the back of the head while down, very un-Anzac like. Rance should be disgusted with himself

Unfortunately the commentators felt sympathy for him, can't figure this one out.

How many Rosary Beads will Rance have to do for that weak act?

He had his Jahovas door knocking arm going on there...

No chance viney gets suspended, can't believe people think he will get a week maybe a fine but hey after that game I'm sure we can pay it

If he misses a week, reckon Petracca will get his go

Would be an absolute joke if they gave Jack a week for sticking up for a team mate who had copped a dog shot, Rance deserves a couple for being an idiot.

Pathetic from Rance, so unprofessional.

God I love Jack Viney. What a beast. That never would have happened a few years ago.

Great to see Jack get in there, but rather than the whack I'd have been asking Rance how it feels to know that your coach is a dead man walking and it's all your fault?

He won't get suspended. There is no way. What type of message would that give to other players for sticking up for your teammates when the opposition does something like that?

And the only one giving a yelp is Cotchins wife.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
