Well, I will keep this brief...

I am driving over from Adelaide to spend a week back in God's country on a boys trip with my 7 year old Son.  Staying with family who live in Berwick, so will be heading over to Casey on Saturday night to watch the boys, including whoever the unlucky ones are that miss out on the Richmond match.

This is where my dilemma is... My interstate membership (along with my son's junior membership) gets us access to the big Anzac Day eve clash, but my wife decided to upgrade our tickets to a reserve seat... I love her for this, but am I right in thinking that Level 2 (N35) in the Ponsford Stand is right in the heartland of enemy territory?  It's been a few years since I have travelled back myself and if my memory is correct then my boy's FIRST EVER visit to "our" home ground will be sitting in the middle of the animal pack?!?

Any information would be much appreciated... I personally have no issue sitting with the yellow & black ferals as I will enjoy waving goodbye to them during the last quarter but my poor lad will spew if he is not near the Melbourne faithful  

PS. We are also going to attend an open training session the week after for his up close fix of his heroes.... But I just hope his first visit to Mecca won't be ruined...

I don't know, I reckon the young fella might enjoy telling the ferals to eat a bag of you know whats as they're leaving (early in the 3rd quarter)

Indeed he may, as he gets pretty fired up the young fella, but his mother will kill me if I don't bring him home safely

I think Tigers are only Punt Rd end for their home games...

the first bit done it for me wow a boys trip ?  haha seems more like the missus wants you both gone for the weekend or whatever  , but whatever 

BD contact the Club tomorrow 1300 336 667 and confirm. You may just scar the poor boy for a lifetime having to sit with the ferals.

If you are going to Gosch's Paddock to watch training don't forget that it is easier to catch the train into Richmond Station and walk across the road. Although DLanders say there is parking over the bridge and walk across. I am sure there will be plenty of good advice coming your way.

The players are really friendly and I am sure your son will get some great autographs and selfies with his favourite players after training.

Enjoy. What a great trip to do together.

This may be the first time I've ever seen the word "whatever" written twice in one sentence 

The reason for the trip is due to the fact that my high pressure job requires me to spend an excessive amount of time in "work" mode.  This impacts on my work/life balance and reduces the quality time I get with my children.  Hence this boy's trip.

I am sure the missus will enjoy the week without the footy bouncing off the walls/windows/fences and can just relax with the two youngest kids

Not sure why I am explaining this to you, but hey.... Whatever, whatever!

Richmond hand out free beer to kids so it might be worth the experience.

As long as you don't step on a syringe or touch any open wounds you should be ok.

Have  a rabies/tetanus shot before you go in just to be on the safe side.

That is probably what will end up happening... Although I'm expecting a bumper crowd of possibly 75,000 if we pull a selection bolter... Whatever happens, I am just salivating at the thought of getting back to the G... It's not until you move away that you realise how great it was living in Melbourne 

You could always sell the tickets on Ebay (not for profit) & get another set of tickets elsewhere in the Southern Stand behind the goals or in the pocket. You're lucky that there may be some demand for your existing tickets as its Anzac Eve.

Unless you're in the MCC members, it doesn't matter where you sit, you'll be surrounded by a mix of Richmond + Melbourne, mostly Richmond by a ration of probably 3:1. 

Give the missus a jolly good flogging for causing all this anxiety.

Anxiety gone... I don't care where I sit and how many freaks are around us... When we're both belting out the club song at the final siren it's going to feel like heaven anyway!

Dont melbourne supporters have a soft spot for richmond?. They were always our co tennants. More to the point hey have suffered like us. Maybe we do but just dont like there supporters.

good heavens man, where did you get this "always our co-tenants"? the are fairly recent trespassers on our sacred ground and should scurry back to their hole on punt road. the only thing they legitimately share to some extent is yarra park.

I tumbled into that too U.D. I was hoping for a bit of light entertainment at Cotchin's expense. Monumental error by wife seems like something for the no BS no TS thread. Who would like to open the bidding on this on ??

My wife's monumental error was probably marrying me. She did throw out an item in which I had secreted a bit of cash once. I got over that but it hurt at the time.
